The host is very generous and helpful, probably the best host I’ve ever met. He basically helped us with everything, the booking of kayaking in the lake, the turtle watching, he took us to the beach and shared lots of useful information. He even waited at the beach to ride my kids back by his motorcycle when it was almost 10 pm. As we were swimming, he arranged our dinner by the pool. The breakfast was also hearty and delicious. As for the villa, it is clean, spacious, nicely decorated. Every room has a clothes drying rack, which is very thoughtful. My favorite is the swimming pool, very clean and modern, there is also a kids pool too!

EVERYTHING - Manu and his wife Shishi and the house dogs were the best! we felt at home, Manu went fishing and cooked us fresh crabs, shrimps, fish more than we can eat at a very fair price. he also went fishing in the next morning again and cooked us fresh lobsters in the morning free of charge because he didnt have lobsters the night before. he is just too kind and giving. we played card games all night as a family:) rooms are clean and beds are comfy. also hot shower! dont leave this place without eating the seafood!

At the homestay, the units have bed linen and towels. We’re young backpackers, and this is by far the best guest-house we’ve visited in our travels. A modern, well-kept villa with a nice garden. The room was very clean, the AC worked perfectly, the bed was big. We even had an extra room to install all our clothes and equipment, and the room’s terrace was spacious with a view on the garden. Waking up and being served breakfast on the balcony was an amazing vacation experience.

Boasting an outdoor swimming pool and views of garden, The lookout lodge is a recently renovated guest house set in Tangalle, 600 metres from Tangalle Beach. There is an in-house restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. A lovely place in the quiet part of Tanglle. We booked at the last minute and they were ready for us with an early check-in early and a very nice welcome drink. The owner Gintarė and manager Chami were very helpful, organising transport to The other side of Tanglle and to Mirissa. The wetlands near the lodge had many birds which was a bonus. Highly recommended.

It is set 35 km from Situlpawwa and offers a 24-hour front desk. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely hosts, we booked the breakfast and dinner option. The breakfast was huge, and the dinner menu had many options to choose from. It was great to come back from the safari and not have to worry about going out somewhere for dinner. I read on a post recently that someone said they had no hot water. Our bathroom had two shower heads, one was just a cold shower, the other hand held shower was connected to what looked like an instantaneous hot water system and we had as much hot water as we needed. We also booked an all day safari through the accommodation, which I would rate 10 out of 10. The vehicle was comfortable, the driver/guide spotted so many animals for us, he didn't rush around like some vehicles around us, our driver even assisted another bogged vehicle while the other vehicles around us just drove past the bogged vehicle. Seeing some of the safari Jeeps that day, some were clearly unroadworthy and with cracked windows that would have limited their clients ability to see well. If you are considering a safari I would highly recommend using a reliable service with a great reputation like this one as I would definitely not have wanted to be in some of those vehicles. PS we didn't get to see a lepord, but we did see a Sloth Bear which apparently are unusual to see at Yala normally.

Priya’s property at Tissa was amazing. Comfort, cleanliness, nature, proximity to the nearby lake. Everything was perfect. Priya is a very educated host and a nature lover. He took us to the lake for birdwatching. He explained us everything about the animal species living there. He even took us to Tissa with his own Tuk Tuk to a cafe we had spotted. We were lucky to enjoy a full moon night from the balcony. We went on an early morning safari the next day and he had prepared take away breakfast for us. He also arranged our laundry. To sum up he did everything to make this experience magical. Our accommodation had the unique character of a local home. It was like it was personalised. Thank you Priya!
