Such a wonderful stay. Abay and his family are incredible hosts, the location is tranquil and easy walk to everything in Phonsavan town, and the rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. I also highly recommend the tours that they offer. Abay really listened to my interests and curated a custom tour—we explored the difficult history of Xieng Khouang as marked by the lands, visited various villages and spoke to locals about their experiences, paid our respects at Tham Piu Cave, visited key sites in Muang Khoun (the Old Capital), and even dropped in a yet-to-be-opened Hmong open-air museum that I only could’ve found because of Abay’s local knowledge. He also treated me to a delicious lunch—I couldn’t have asked for a better day. It’s clear that he’s passionate about his country and Xieng Khouang, and that energy was infectious. And he patiently answered my many, many questions about Laos history and culture, a gift that great enriched my experience. They also helped me out with bus bookings and various other travel related tasks, and were incredibly gracious and supportive about it all. I had a very memorable stay in Xieng Khouang thanks to Abay and Sipanya, and I’m so grateful. Highly recommend this guesthouse and their tours.

Powerful shower, good hairdryer. Next door to Bombies restaurant which is a nice restaurant with lots of history about the secret war.
