Everything! We were met by Asai who explained everything we needed to know including payments, food options, rentals etc. Bungalows are lovely and have a fan which was absolutely fine for us. There are only 6 and they are spaced out from each other so you feel you have privacy. Each bungalow had a nice outdoor seating area. The restaurant served amazing food, we had breakfast every day and dinner once and was really good with very, very generous portions! It's also a lovely setting and if you climb a few stairs there is a rooftop platform for lounging on. Kayaks are available for rental which would be perfect as the property is based amongst the mangroves, unfortunately we didn't get to to this as they were booked out! And yes, the river otter is still there and very cute! You will hear him coming when the dogs go mental lol. As per other reviews it is in a rural location, however based on our research of reviews and being able to ride bikes, this was no problem for us. However even if you don't drive, its a great location for just chilling and relaxing! Property can also support you with tuk tuks to and from the pier. We had a great stay, thank you to Lin, Asai, Lily and family!

I really enjoyed my stay at Dahlia's guesthouse. It's set back a little bit from the main part of the village so it's nice and quiet at night. The room was great and nicely decorated and the shared facilities are nice. The host, Ellen, was lovely and was happy to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to stay in M'pai Bay.

Beautiful location with a great deck area to relax and soak in the views, as well as enjoy the sunrise over the sea. The hosts were very friendly & the food delicious. We enjoyed visiting Lonely Beach during the day, a lovely quiet beach which is within walking distance (around 40 mins).

maybe the cleanest and most confortable place i have been since i started traveling, also the spot itself at the end of the village facing the sea is so peaceful and at same time super close to everything you need.

Lovely guesthouse in a great location near all the restaurants and beaches in M’Pai bay. Sam was so nice and welcoming. All her pets were so relaxed and friendly, one of her dogs even sings which was so funny to see! The living room area feels very homely. A great place to say if you want to relax for a few days

I really enjoyed my stay at Macondo! The owners, Ian and Mela, are super friendly and give great recommendations on what to do in M'pai Bay. The accommodation is located in the middle of the village, and only a 10 minute walk to the beach. The room was spacious, the mattress was very comfortable and I really liked that the accommodation is a traditional wooden house giving an authentic feel. The shared balcony is also very nice to relax and read a book. When you stay at Macondo don't forget to try Mela's amazing dumplings - they're one of the best ones I've had!

We stayed just for one night - our last night on the Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloen islands - before catching a ferry back to Sihanoukville and train to Kampot. The location is super convenient for both coming here from the Sunset beach (where we stayed the night before (getting there by $5 pp boat from the MPai Bay village) and catching the Buva Sea ferry to the mainland, as the pier is right outside. The beach outside the Sunny Bungalows is beautiful and clean, with transparent water and white sand (while some parts of the Saracen Bay have some rubbish sadly). The use of paddle boards was free which was great (and I certainly took advantage of that, as the sea was calm as a lake - perfect for paddle boarding). The breakfast was delicious and included in the accommodation price, as was the unlimited water refill. Both the owner/ manager and his family and all staff were super friendly, kind and generous. The bungalows were better than the pictures I thought, and were surprisingly spacious. Overall, it was great to stay here for a night, and we enjoyed watching the sunrise and wondering up and down the beach even though I would recommend staying also at other places on both islands.
