She thought of every little detail and took care of it, and it makes the room and common spaces feel truly like a home. There is everything you need here, even things you didn't know you needed. The location is also a highlight, in the middle of Gion, walking distance from beautiful temples and the river bank. If you never slept in a japanese style room before this is the best introduction you could hope for, and if you have this is truly a rare find. Grateful to have the chance to stay here for a few nights.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Azukiya is a recently renovated guest house located in Kyoto, 700 metres from Shoren-in Temple. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. We liked everything! Chieko is a wonderful host. Everything was clean. It's a wonderful experience to live in 100 year old Japanese home. And the breakfast was delicious! :) Thank you!

I am so glad I decided for this accommodation in Kyoto! The room was comfortable and well equipped. The neighborhood is quiet yet well connected (buses and train lines). What made the real difference, though, were the hosts Haruka and Takeda that have a genuine interest in ensuring all is well, provide useful information about the city and make you really feel at home! Takeda even drove me to the station as I had so much luggage! And Haruka is such a nice person! I recommend Haruka’s house with no hesitation and hope to be back soon again :-)

The hosts of this family-run small inn are so welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are really comfortable. The location is close to many major sights (museums, temples) and right around the corner from a train station if you want to go farther.

Family Inn Kei 慶 features accommodation within 3.2 km of the centre of Kyoto, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with an oven, a microwave and a toaster. This 1-star guest house offers a lift and luggage storage space. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. It was actually rather larger for what we have been used to in Japan. The fact there is everything you need, the washing machine a huge plus in summer and close to the stations. Honestly, I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Also super quiet and felt extremely safe.
