This 4-star homestay offers a lift and luggage storage space. The property is 2 km from the city centre and 1.3 km from Sanjusangen-do Temple. Cute location next to a small river in a quiet neighborhood. The room was spacious, seperate bathroom and toilet and a nice view from the window. The entry to the building and room is by code so you don't always have to bring an annoying keycard with you. There was free bottled water in the lobby. The host Kevin gave us all important information via Whatsapp and even offered to drive us to the station at the end of our stay.

Family Inn Kei 慶 features accommodation within 3.2 km of the centre of Kyoto, with free WiFi, and a kitchenette with an oven, a microwave and a toaster. This 1-star guest house offers a lift and luggage storage space. Private parking can be arranged at an extra charge. Staff were amazing! Our son injured his ankle while touring and they very kindly rented a wheel chair on our behalf. We will be forever grateful for their timely and obliging assistance. As for the hotel / rooms: they are lovely "Japanese modern", well equipped, and spotless. Bonus points for the elevator! Location is a 5-ish min. walk to the metro. A quick jump to Kyoto station and, as someone else noted, "a straight shot to Nara". (We didn't check and had to transfer on the way there, but not on the way back). The area is quiet and authentic. It was nice to head "home", away from the tourist bustle! We could easily have paid twice as much, for half as much space, in another location. So glad we didn't! We would stay at Family Inn Kai again in a heartbeat, should we be lucky enough to visit Kyoto again.
