This is a HomeStay true to word - I felt really at home here. Takako is an amazing host who made feel very welcomed. The dinner she cooks is so tasty, I was looking forward to it every day. The place is simple and authentic which I liked a lot, and is kept super clean. I also liked the location as it is very calm and 15 minutes walk to a more secluded beach which has nice sunsets. It’s also very convenient that you can directly rent a bike and snorkeling gear, I used that to explore the island and snorkel and several spots.

We were picked up at the ferry and driven to the hostel and the owner has a free booking system so he can arrange transportation to the beaches and back. The owner also has a marine shop where you can shower at Aharen beach. Amazing staff! Been travelling around Taiwan and Okinawa and this place was the best so far. There is no better, or other way to describe Tokashiki Island as a paradise island. Its history from ww2 also gives you an emotional experience whilst you are there. Strongly recommend the island and Kerama backpackers!
