In nice, small, quiet streets about 200m from the centre, well away from being hassled by auto drivers and restaurant owners. Beautiful singing from the local church on Sunday mornings. Unlike the centre, you can see and hear a lot of birds. The hosts are brilliant, communicating well and quickly on WhatsApp. They arranged to have our washing done, they even negotiated a lower price for us.

Munroeisland Backwaters Homestay, a property with a shared lounge, is situated in Munroe Island, 44 km from Varkala Cliff, 45 km from Sivagiri Mutt, as well as 46 km from Janardhanaswamy Temple. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Kollam Railway Station is 24 km away. We loved the home cooked meals, the village walk, and sunrise sunset canoe tours with Vijeesh. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We enjoyed our stay!

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. This was my favourite accomodation in India. The place was very clean, nice common area on the rooftop and cool owner. I loved the plants everywhere. Good vibes.
