The host, Dimmer, went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, included transportation to/from the island, scooter rental etc. He was always available in person and by phone to answer questions. The room was huge with a great big balcony with amazing view, very clean with new furniture. Access to the lake and a great swimming spot. Would definitely stay again!

We like to travel a lot and for sure this is one of the best places we have ever visited. Situated next to the river with the most beautiful views. All the persons working here made our stay very special, making music at night and playing cardgames with the kids. The food also was delicious. We did three different excursions (village tour, jungle trek for 2 days and bat cave) and everything was very well organized. Also from the moment you make the reservation, there is a very good contact with the host for all your questions. We definitely want to return one day.

A recently renovated guest house situated in Bukit Lawang, Kupu Kupu Garden Guest House & Cafe features a garden. This beachfront property offers access to a balcony. As a solo traveler traveling in low season, I expected there might be some inconveniences. however, the staffs of Kupukupu helped me to overcome all the difficulties, planning and arranging my trips well with good value. I also like the cookings from their kitchen. You need to order dinner in the morning then they can buy fresh food in the day and cook the dishes well. I tried some other restaurant with high rating in the village, unfortunately, their food are not fresh at all. I really appreciate the Kupu Kupu kitchen prepares the dishes with heart, even for one single guest.
