At the homestay, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. Our room was lovely, very clean and fresh. Breakfast was good, we tried the banana pancakes and fried noodles. The real standout of our stay was Kaesa, who was amazingly friendly and helpful. This may be the best homestay host I've ever met, so enthusiastic and happy to help with anything. He gave lots of advice and recommendations, from good prices to pay for fruit to how to ask for vegetarian food and what to expect on the hiking route. Would absolutely recommend!

Boasting a garden and views of city, Evergreen Lodge is a recently renovated homestay set in Padang, 2.3 km from Samudra Beach. Located on the beachfront, this property has a terrace and barbecue facilities. The homestay offers an outdoor fireplace, a 24-hour front desk, and free WiFi is available throughout the property. One of the best homestays I’ve stayed at in my 4 months of traveling SE Asia. Very comfortable private room with great air conditioning. The staff are extremely helpful with any recommendations or help you may need.

Sumatra Expedition Lodge is a recently renovated guest house in Bukit Lawang, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Guests can make use of the children's playground or the picnic area, or enjoy views of the mountain and river. Lovely place ran by a very nice family and their team in a peaceful little village not far from Bukit lewang. They arranged my jungle Trek as soon as I arrived which was perfect. Waking up to rice fields and mountain views, what more could you wish for?

A recently renovated guest house set in Tuk Tuk, Hub Tata Guesthouse features a garden. The property features lake views. In good weather, guests are welcome to sit outside.

At the guest house, each unit comes with a desk. Featuring a private bathroom, units at the guest house also provide guests with free WiFi, while certain rooms will provide you with a terrace. This is one of the nicest places (guesthouses) I have ever stayed on my travels. I had 1 of the 2 rooms downstairs right by the water, get up and from your bed you have a view of the lake and the mountains.  Fantastic owner Nia but also a very good and friendly team behind her give you a very welcome feeling right away. I really can't say anything negative about this accommodation. Please note that this is a guesthouse, not a 5* luxury hotel.  The small beautifully maintained garden and all the plants everywhere contribute to a very nice atmosphere.  Please note that the rooms downstairs are more difficult to reach for people who are not very mobile due to the steep stairs (15 steps). There are rooms higher up but of course they lack the charm of staying close to the water.  The restaurant of this guesthouse (with a very nice view) is also worth it. A few special things on the menu but super tasty; definitely try the immune booster. The best restaurants for dinner for me (Hub Tata restaurant closes at 7PM) are on the other side of Tuktuk (15-20 minutes walk) but you can also rent a scooter at Nia.  I would have liked to stay longer but the room was fully booked so book in advance and keep in mind that the Samosir peninsula is so nice that you will probably want to stay longer than planned.

There is an on-site restaurant, plus free private parking and free WiFi are available. The accommodation provides airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. Jhony is very friendly and helpful with any questions. Place is nice and quiet and just a short walk to main part of town. Jungle trek was a great experience and his young helper Lana went out his way to make sure we had a great experience. Would highly recommend

This beachfront property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The accommodation offers airport transfers, while a bicycle rental service is also available. I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a comfy and very convenient guesthouse. The staff is really kind and helpfull. They also organize great trekking tours to the jungle. And the location of the guest house is great. Right next to the river. From the terasse you can look down on the river and enjoy the village life.

Sad to leave so soon.

Super happy we stayed here. Very beautiful and clean cottage directly in front of a private beach with corals and lots of fish. Perfect for snorkeling and you can rent masks there. The restaurant was also great with nice staff. Borja and his wife super chill and helpful. Fully recommended!
