There are many prominent restaurants and cafes nearby. 🏡 We stayed in three different rooms. The rooms are pleasant, its spacious and its clean, with a beautiful touch of Javanese and some mix of Indonesian culture. 🔐 The place feel very secure and secluded, its quiet and a hidden gem in the midst of the local neighbourhood. Many foreigners stay there, which we met from Poland, US, UK, and locals. ⭐️ The staff are also very warm and friendly. We get to meet briefly the host owner, also the team of staff like Kak Lisa, Kak Nisa, and Mas Catra, who helped us throughout our stay — such as getting a car hire service, getting tickets and insights before visiting places. 🍛 It includes breakfast, the options are close to the culture of Indonesia such as “Gudeg”, “Nasi Uduk”, and of course, “mie goreng” — with a nice portion. The plus points is that they always provided extras like fruit salads, traditional desserts, banana bread, etc. through out our stay. 💳 Decently priced. We book through Booking.com and it’s very easy to adjust and modify. ⭐️ Overall, we had a very decent stay and definitely would love to come back again! Thank you Nextdoor Homestay team!

Boasting a terrace and views of quiet street, Casa de Vie Homestay is a recently renovated homestay situated in Malang, 3.5 km from Museum Mpu Purwa. It is set 3.9 km from Tlogomas Recreation Park and offers a shared kitchen. The homestay features rooms with air conditioning, free private parking and free WiFi. The communication with the staff was very good from the beginning. The staff ( Marcella) was very helpful during the checking process and also helped with the tour arrangements. The place is as shown in the pictures. The room was small but very clean and maintained well. The restaurant that was nearby was also good. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to all my friends.

You mostly eat at a big table with other guests but if you don't like it you are not forced to socialize. After dinner, Rani and Oussama ask what you are planning to do the next day. If you are planning to do the Bromo walking tour and other guests like to join, you share a car (and the cost of it)... or not if you prefer to go alone. We had the chance to share cars for the Bromo walking tour and for the Tumpak Sewu waterfall and could cut the cost and have a good time with fellow travellers. Rani and Oussama offer solutions for most of your travelling problems: transportation to Maison Manendra from Malang, Bromo Tour without other people around you, tour to Tumpak Sewu with a fantastic guide, taxi to Surabaya... and many more. Rani and Oussama travel a lot in and out of Indonesia and are well aware of what you need during your Java trip. If you are looking for luxury, it is not the place for you. As for myself, I got far more than I expected. Merci Rani et Oussama, c'était absolument super!

Homestay located in a very peacefull neighborhood, the room is clean and they have comfy communal space. Mas Jali and the team, Mbak Naya and Mas Dewo, are super friendly and helpful. Mas Jali even took me to the local flea market, hunting some old stuff, and we went on a walk to malioboro. The other thing I like on my stay here is I can meet other travelers from various place with various interesting stories.

This homestay offers free private parking and full-day security. Lovely home stay, comfy beds, very helpful and kind owner. He told us of all the options to visit Mount Bromo (one could book the tour directly via the owner) and we ended up staying at Brak for 2 nights and doing the Mt Bromo trip directly from Probolinggo. We pre-ordered a Gojek (like Grab) at 2 am for 250k, the driver drove us to Cemorolawang, we did the hike and everything, had breakfast in Cemorolawang, then came back to Probolinggo. We can back with the same driver, but one can easily also use the shared minivans, it is easy to get from Cemorolawang to Probolinggo during the day. When we came back, the owner greeted us with tea and we had a good rest. Doing Mt. Bromo from Probolinggo is easy and less tiresome, we’re happy we chose this way! I can only recommend this guesthouse, this was Indonesian hospitality at its best that we experienced.

I really loved the location — it feels like the countryside, close to the rice fields. I wish I could’ve stayed longer; it’s such a peaceful place with crickets singing at night and a very cozy atmosphere. The property is extremely clean, and the room was very spacious, beautifully decorated with wooden furniture, and had a small terrace. The cottages are surrounded by greenery, and there’s also a restaurant on-site. The staff were absolutely lovely, and it was easy to order a Grab from here. You can even see the temple from a distance — such a charming place!
