Our stay at this guesthouse in Matacawalevu Island was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality that made us feel like part of the family. The food was absolutely amazing, every meal was delicious and traditional. Our room was so huge and beautifully maintained, it felt like the perfect holiday we were dreaming about. The guesthouse is perfectly located close to the beach, where we enjoyed kayaking around. One of the best things of our stay was visiting the nearby Sawa-i-Lau caves, an easy trip from the guesthouse, and taking part in local life through a village and church visit (the experience felt really authentic). This wasn’t just a stay, it was a real Fijian experience. We're so grateful to the wonderful family who hosted us and made everything so special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true experience away from everything.

This was my most enjoyable and relaxing stay of my yasawa trip. So many positives. The place its self is separate from the families quarters so you feel like you have real privacy. The family are all lovely and non intrusive. The kids are the cutest things ever. The bed is of quality hotel standards with a priceless mosquito net. Finally the food was excellent and abundant, every time catering for my pescatarian needs. Was very sad to leave.

Towels and bed linen are featured in the guest house. The accommodation is non-smoking. We felt super welcome and well cared for at Tai Evi. Amazing food for all meals with huge portions. Everyone in the village greets you and is curious to talk to you. We got a fresh coconut cut by one of the locals and played around with the kids. We also went to snorkel with the manta rays which was an amazing experience.

Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with an outdoor fireplace. The host Vilise was making you feel at home. He makes the best icecream from fresh fruit! Delicious 100%. He is also an excellent cook. Walking to the other side of the island over different paths, gave an exploring feel! I’m delightful I have experienced his place.

Facilities are basic, what you would expect on remote island but lice (not sure of spelling but pronounced lee-they I think)and Jo do allot of little things like solar phone chargers, solar lights at night. I was treated like family. Lice is a great cook, but again, food is limited to local sources.blue lagoon beach is wonderful (25 minute walk) and all activities are resonably priced, bring your own rods for fishing, and bring gifts for children or some preferred food from super

The accommodation provides a 24-hour front desk, free shuttle service and luggage storage for guests. Our host Elia was just a really friendly man. He gives us a good and safe feeling. The food was amazing and the people in the village a friendly. Our house was clean, toilet and badroom was clean and good aswel!

Towels and bed linen are provided in the homestay. Jolame and Marie are very kind people, caring for everyone and very welcoming to their house. We had the best stay, luckily for us we had two nights without other visitors and had plenty of time to engage with Maria, talk about life on the island and enjoy quiet place. It's located at the end of the village, tucked away from the resort, yet it's a short walk to the main beach, and you can grab a drink at the Wayalailai resort. Jolame organised all activities for us, no problem. We recommend doing the hike with a guide, not just for safety (I am sure we could do the walk by ourselves if somebody pointed us the right direction) but also for a good talk about the village and the place. Apex was a great guide and very fun to spend time with. Sweet Marie did her best to accommodate my dietary requirements, and her food was magic, thank you!
