The owner is Hermida, a lovely lady who is helped by the whole family, her grandson who speaks english came to welcome us. You have to take the breakfast and diner there, it is like being in Sra Hermida's kitchen. You eat fresh products from the farm. It is just a lovely location and they have so much to tell you about the place. We recommend 4x4 to explore Monteverde and to get to the house but the view is amazing from your lodge. Do not hesitate

There is also an amazing pizza restaurant on the property. Pizzas were delicious. The breakfasts in the morning were a real bonus and the attention to detail was so sweet. It is close to attractions and down town. Highly recommend!

Guest House Pura Vida was our favourite stay in a month of travelling in Costa Rica. We loved meeting and chatting with our hosts Jorge and Pamela who, thanks to their own love and experiences of traveling, put a lot of thought and care into creating a welcoming place for travellers. This was especially evident by the common areas such as the kitchen, which was beautifully arranged over a second-storey balcony. There was some secret sauce that made the space extra-inviting and we had many easy and warm interactions with other guests. Our room was surprisingly spacious and had lots of neat decorative touches to make it feel like home. The property itself was beautiful, with amazing views of the mountains from the common areas, a tree in the courtyard where macaws would visit, and a little stream behind the property. The location, just a few minutes up the hill from the town centre, was quiet and safe (parking either inside the courtyard, or out front on a quiet gravel road). Finally, it's one of the cleanest places I have EVER stayed at, even compared to higher-end hotels etc. etc. I really couldn't ask for anything more if I tried!
