Turtle Lamp Villa in Unawatuna is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a true Sri Lankan experience. It’s located about a 15-minute walk from the beach, and you can easily get a PickMe or Uber for convenience. The villa has four rooms, while the friendly owners live downstairs with their dog. They were very welcoming, and the owner's wife prepared delicious breakfasts for us every morning. The owner also checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed. Our room was spacious and clean, with a separate kitchen, where we could cook or make coffee and tea. The private balcony was a great place to enjoy breakfast, and the bathroom had a shower (though the water pressure was a bit low, it added to the authentic Sri Lankan atmosphere). We loved getting to know the owners and experiencing their hospitality. There are also several restaurants and bars nearby for lunch or dinner, and we enjoyed fresh coconuts and fruits from local stalls. A lovely touch was the welcome drink – fresh coconut from their garden! If you're looking for a peaceful, authentic, and friendly place to stay, I highly recommend Turtle Lamp Villa for a relaxing getaway.

Exceptional service, best stuff in whole Sri Lanka! They gave us a free upgrade, and the room was so big and the view into the jungle was stunning! Great international breakfast, with all sorts of eggs, toast with jam, fresh fruits and tea/coffee. The prices at this hotel are very reasonable, even at lunch / diner! At night time, this location is peaceful and quiet. We would always come back!

We have been staying at this hotel for a week and have already extended our stay by a month. You won't find better service in Sri Lanka. The manager Chandana and all the staff are the friendliest people I have ever met. Any request will be fulfilled as soon as possible. Everything you ask for is available. Breakfast is included in the price, the table is not extensive, but every day the staff comes up with something new. For lunch and dinner you can choose a dish from the menu, the portions are huge for an average price! Every evening fresh fish is prepared for us, we buy it by ourselves at the local market. We pay quite a bit and get a delicious dinner right in the room. The hotel is on a hill which makes the views even better. There are many zones on a very well-groomed territory, a reception with a hammock and a large sofa, a dining area, a garden, a swimming pool, verandas near the room, bar. There are monitor lizards, squirrels, birds, sometimes monkeys appear) The staff also monitors their behavior! It’s not close to the ocean, but the road on a scooter takes 5-7 minutes, we don’t feel it at all. There is a great opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the island. Chandana also provided me with a new, beautiful scooter, at a low price for the island. We don’t feel much insects, everything is as it should be within the island. In addition, cute lizards live near the room doing their work so The room is spacious, very high stylish ceilings, minimalistic renovation. The room has a kettle, a refrigerator that freezes perfectly, TV, air conditioning. There is a laundry service, they will wash your clothes for minimal price. In general, the best place in Sri, very beautiful, I will attach a photo. Big thank you. Chandana and staff for your service ❤️

Perfect location just 1 min walk from the beach (across the road). Room is clean and cozy. Bed is comfortable. Owner is very caring and helpful. Delicious breakfast is provided in a next door restaurant, which opens at 8:30-09:00, please take this in consideration when you book with breakfast. Nearby there are a lot of restaurants, what is definitely good. On the other hand, you have to be prepared it might be noisy in the late evening.

I had a great time here! The place is really clean and the wifi and AC work perfectly, also there is enough hot water. Vishwa was really accommodating and made a really great breakfast every morning and offered me tea/coffee in the evening. One time he made a snack in the evening cause he knew I didn’t eat well that day. He also made sure I hade a charger for my phone and a travel adapter since mine wasn’t the right one. I was well taken care of! I would recommend staying here if you are visiting Unawatuna :), Unawatuna beach is a 20 min walk or you can get a Tuktuk wish are cheap.

Really nice homestay just outside the Unawatuna beach strip. Lots of wildlife around and about 10/15 mins walk from jungle beach. Dinesh was a great host and really enjoyed his breakfasts each morning while watching the birds feasting in the surrounding fruit trees.
