Fun place to stay! The owners were really characterful and friendly. It's right in the jungle and the garden is like a jungle too. The room was great, very clean, hot running water and really well kitted out rooms - Good AC, a stocked fridge with cold drink minibar type setup, kettle, tea/coffee, a big washing bowl handy for washing clothes. The entrance to Sigriya is directly opposite the access road to this place - you could not stay any closer, so ideal for an early morning start up the rock. The Breakfast here is absolutely stunning, 18 different items, all cooked by the host in the morning, hoppers, pancakes, little omelets, jaffles.. it just keeps coming out! We had our own tuktuk so driving around, going out at night wasn't a big deal, and the owner can easily organise a tuktuk pickup as this guesthouse is set back into the jungle. A 5min walk from main road in the daylight but maybe not something to try in the dark. We would happily stay again!

Unbelievably located literally right out the front of Sigiriya Rock (only 10min walk to the entrance. Beautiful family who runs the property. They were extremely nice and extremely helpful. Great comfortable clean room, awesome a/c, and a great breakfast. Host father helped us book a tuk tuk for really early in the morning as we wanted to see sunrise up Pidurangala Rock.

The property is literally in the jungle, and there are plenty of animals roaming around, from fireflies to birds, monkeys, reptiles and frogs, one even came out of the sink, but no worries, he was friendly. We had an observation tower above our room, which put us right above the treetops. Tasty food and very hospitable staff. You won't go wrong choosing tree trails for your stay in Sigiriya.

The room was very nice and cozy, with a cute balcony and a very nice view into the family garden. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. The free cooking class was also amazing. We learned so much about the traditional foods and culture in Sri Lanka. Wish we could’ve stayed here longer!

Kumari is the nicest host we’ve had on our journey so far. She and her family are really adorable and made us feeling at home straight away. The day we come back so Sri Lanka we’ll surely return even if it’s just to say hello. The food was so great that we still regret not having taken the time her kitchen class. We highly appreciated all the activities which she helped us to organise and her great transparency on how things work in Sri Lanka. Be aware that the lodge is not in the village itself but is very easily accessible with one of the countless tuktuks within 5-10minutes

Our family had the absolute pleasure of staying at Sigiri Arana in Sigiriya, and it’s safe to say we left with full hearts, happy stomachs, and unforgettable memories. From the moment we arrived, Sunanda, Samadi, and Randi made us feel like part of their family. Their warmth and hospitality turned their lovely home into a home away from home. The property itself is nestled in a peaceful, green location—comfortable, clean, and serene, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We genuinely wished we had booked a longer stay. One of the highlights was the early morning hike up Sigiriya Rock. Despite the 5am start, it was already bustling with other sunrise seekers. Sunanda kindly offered to take us, sharing interesting stories along the way. The panoramic views from the top were stunning, and the local wildlife—monkeys and birds—were all too happy to mingle with the tourists! We also visited Pidurangala Rock, just a short walk away (definitely bring shoes with good grip). And our jeep safari with Sunanda in his own vehicle was a standout experience. It was an incredible day seeing elephants up close, spotting monkeys, peacocks, and a range of wildlife. The kids absolutely loved the ride, and the thoughtful touch of snacks and drinks made it all the more enjoyable. Every morning and evening, we were treated to delicious home-cooked meals by Samadi, who is truly a fantastic cook. The variety of curries was astounding—some of the best food we had throughout Sri Lanka. We looked forward to each meal on the porch, sipping a beer, watching the wildlife, and chatting with the family about the day’s adventures and plans for the next. Sunanda is deeply knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife, and he’s always eager to share this with his guests. His passion for nature and community really enriched our experience. We left feeling incredibly grateful—not just for the amazing memories, but for the seeds from their garden, which we’ll plant at home as a reminder

The location is perfect to visit Sigiriya Lion Rock and Pidurangala Rock, and all the interesting places around Sigiriya. The owners are very kind and helpful. I had dinner 2 days there and it was delicious traditional food. I enjoyed a lot of the environment, the astonishing views and nature sounds.

Great hospitality ,so reasonable and valuable experiences. I swam in near lake with host family.Locals wash their bodies and clothes there. so I also washed my body. Host took me the Rock to watch sunrise, it was so beautiful view ,on the way home fortunately I saw wild crocodile. After that I rode an elephant (5000LKR required). They served so delicious and local breakfast. He was the best host ever. If you stay here,your satisfaction with staying in Sigiriya will be greatly improved.

I really loved staying at Pidurangala View Home Stay ♥️ the hosts are amazing, super kind and attentive and will help you to organize your schedule so you can make the most of tour time. Also, the location is incredible, it is a 10 min walk to the entrance to the Lion Rock and a 5min walk to the entrance of Pidurangala. Those walks are so scenic, you can spot monkeys, butterflies, peacocks, it is perfect. The food is so delicious, I totally recommend that you have dinner at this homestay, it is SO delicious 🙏🏻 Loved the hosts ♥️

The location was fantastic to see both rocks, our lovely host even organised a 5am tuk tuk for us to view Pidarangula Rock for sunrise. The homestay is also walkable distance to a lovely restaurant called Nirwana. Breakfast was delicious and the view from the terrace of Lions Rock is unmatched. You are really in the middle of the jungle here!

we really enjoyed the location of the homestay as it is located a bit outside of the main road/tourist area. Free drinking water is available and if you pre-order it, you can also eat lunch and dinner there. Jayanti's lovely dog Lora was very friendly towards us and Jayanti hereself is a great host (we didn't have the chance to book it but she also offers cooking classes)
