Fantastic value for money - what's described by Lighthouse Beach Home as the "budget room" could be "deluxe" elsewhere. Rooms are well maintained and nicely equipped, even if small - still comfortable, and you can shower while looking at the lighthouse through the bathroom window. The family running the place is very friendly and speak good English. Next to the guesthouse they have a nice, quirky restaurant on the waterfront. You can park a tuk tuk or a bike in the garden - sun beds then get moved to the rooftop terrace, which has views to the ocean and the bay.

The location of the house was perfect. Facing the ocean and despite on the main road no noise . The home carer welcomed us with fresh coconut and helped us to settle in this superb new villa. We were hesitant to come here because the accommodation had no reviews, but we took the risk and ended up being the very first guests of this exceptional place! The owner of the accommodation worked for 19 years in Dubai in construction and hospitality, and you can truly feel the attention to detail he brought from his experience into this space. A spacious room, a huge bathroom, beautiful terrazzo everywhere, and excellent service from the owner and his wife. They were constantly running around us as if we were a king and queen. Whatever we needed, they helped, arranged, and delivered it. Truly amazing service. When I return to this area, I won’t even think twice about where to stay. The choice is clear. I hope they manage to build the pool next year 😍 as the owner promised! This was one of the most beautiful accommodations we’ve ever stayed at during our travels. Thank you!

Dinu and her parents are the sweetest hosts! The property is cleaner than my house :P, there is a small kitchen set up with almost everything for random hour hunger pangs, the bed and furniture is charming! It is a little walk from the main road (2 mins) but all the great restaurants are within 200m. Really loved my stay and highly recommend it ! Very reasonable also. Not to forget the big big breakfast spread they put out on my checkout day!

It is very difficult to rate this homestay because I arrived in late evening and left about 4am. My room was clean, impersonal, bathroom very "european" however it would be better to slope the floor toward the shower drain or another drain. As it was the bathroom was flooded with water after shower.

Lovely homestay, we got everything we needed. The room is cozy and very clean, it is just a few steps from the beach. Kitchen is well equipped. Lucky is a great and helpful host:)

A little bit of paradise by the sea! Deep Blue is beautiful and the rooms are wonderfully designed. Ruziak is a great host and an excellent communicator. He organised an excellent bbq'd supper of freshly caught fish which was served on our patio and a 5am tuk tuk to the railway station in Matara.The swimming pool and gardens are fabulous with plenty of places to relax. I highly recommend
