Fantastic place. Well maintained and large rooms. Just a short walk to the beach. The owners were quite welcoming and we had a great time staying here.

Nice and very clean room. Great location, right next to the main bus and train station. Beach within short walking distance. Roshan was very friendly and even helped us to organise a taxi transport to the airport. We highly recommend his place.

Fantastic location in the center of Hikkaduwa but in a quite place. Very close to Hikkaduwa beach ,railway and bus stations,shops,restaurants-only few minutes by foot. The guesthouse is exceptional -beautiful garden with flowers and nice open air sitting place at the quite side street -beautifull interior of the house with small patio,sitting area,big table with chairs,aquarium with fish,big refrigerator. -big,very good full kitchen with all utensils you can need to cook. -nice rooms with mosquito net,fan/ventilator -good,big toilet with cold/WARM water !!! /common or private/ -very competitive price ! And the most important-fantastic,nice HOSTS !!! You will feel like a person visiting his family members,not as a regular tourist at a guesthouse.

We can’t wait to return to this hidden gem! Our recent stay at Happy Man Village was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff provided hospitality from the heart—always smiling, receptive, and genuinely anticipative of our needs. Their warmth made us feel welcomed and comfortable throughout our entire stay. Room: The spacious and clean room featured a modern outdoor bathroom that added to the charm. Being secluded, with a good distance from the next cabana, we enjoyed the serenity and had the pleasure of observing the local wildlife in nature. Outdoors: This property truly allows you to disconnect. It is peaceful, with a beautiful garden and pool, and is situated far enough from the main street that we couldn’t hear any noise. Yet, we were close enough to the beach to enjoy the soothing sounds of the waves, which were just a ten-minute walk away. Services: Happy Man Village offers a complimentary drop-off and pick-up service to beaches and restaurants via tuk-tuk. We were fortunate to be escorted to a temple where a monk provided thoughtful explanations about the local culture. Additionally, they offer laundry services (for a fee) and kindly arranged a massage for us on the property (also for a fee). We highly recommend the boat tour along the river or lake, where you can immerse yourself in the local jungle and see the train tracks washed away by the 2004 tsunami. Our suggestion is to do it at sunset, so you can see the birds returning home to roost. Food: Before our last night, we took a cooking class with the chef in the kitchen, which was a delightful and fun experience. We had a great exchange while learning the secrets of Sri Lankan curry. The dinner at the restaurant on the second evening was equally delicious!

Wonderful family owned and operated beachfront hotel. The rooms are simple, clean and a great value for your money. Air conditioning was excellent. I didn't have an issues with the WiFi. My room was large with a view of the beach over the roof of the lower part of the building. Room was complete with electric kettle, ceylon tea and instant coffee. The staff are exceptionally friendly and accommodating at every turn. I had breakfast each morning and dinner twice during my 5 night stay...all were good. There are also many restaurants and convenience stores nearby and an easy walk to the main town of Hikkaduwa. Also lots of tuk tuks around if you would like to venture further.

Owner is very friendly. Gave us information on places to go, places to eat and how to arrive. Facilities in this accomodation are great which also includes pool and parking and location is perfect to be at the centre of everything. Owner was also very accomodationg to our requests. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you.
