Beautiful location, the views are outstanding. Rangala House feels like home, not a hotel. All the staff are very attentive, kind and considerate. I had the place to myself, along with Anthony, the lovely owner, due to cancellations following the cyclone. He is very engaging and we shared some deep conversations over dinner. The guide Niro (now known as Niro the hero!) and I hiked The Knuckles, we were the first to summit following the cyclone. It was cloudy and rainy but an excellent hike. We saw some fauna and flora which Niro had lots of interesting facts to impart. Throughly recommend visiting Rangala House. The people here are wonderful!

Rajiva was an excelllent host and guid. We spent here magnificent three days. The surrounding tea plantations and mountains have amazing views. The area is very authentic without many tourists, but with friendly local people, beautiful nature and lot of wild birds. The accommodation is very comfortable, beds as well. The balcony view is the best, we loved good breakfast with this view. The owner arranged for us transport to the next destination. Once again, thanks a lot Rajiva.

Stayed 1 night at this magical place and wish we had more time to enjoy this amazing property. We really wanted to fit in a round of golf before leaving Sri Lanka and were very lucky to have spent the night at Bougainvillea Retreat, who very kindly offered us a late checkout as we were flying out in the middle of the night, which meant we had time for 18 holes on our last day, we loved absolutely everything, the food was spectacular. Chef met us on arrival and discussed food preferences and so tailored the menu to our liking. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel, both served on the terrace with magnificent views of the mountains and reservoir. Our room was comfortable, well appointed, spacious and again with stunning views of the surroundings Service was welcoming, warm, above and beyond, even with so little time, our laundry was washed, and ironed in 24 hours. The property and grounds are well kept and probably the cleanest we have experienced on our trip! Our only regret is that we had so little time here. We hope to visit again. Thank you to the staff and of course every precious pet too for a thoroughly (albeit short) enjoyable stay

The staff was amazingly friendly! It was absolutely calm and quiet, so perfect to relax! We really liked that there is only 4 rooms😍 the breakfast was delicious (you can choose between Sri Lankan or western, we did both once). Rooms were very clean! Also you can order food from the other hotel nearby, so no need to go out for dinner.
