We enjoyed our stay at Sinharaja Rest very much. Maps may not for some reasons show the exact directions as there is a newer road uphill that one should take to reach the place. Relying on map directions we ended knocking on the neighbours' door but they kindly showed us the right direction : ) The place is an excellent starting point for a rainforest tour. The host organized a six hour rainforest tour for us and also took us to the bus station when we left, so we were very well looked after. The rainforest tour was awesome! We saw lots of birds, some monkeys and some snakes and our guide was very knowledgeable. Special care should be taken to keep leeches off as they are hungry and crawl faster than you might imagine. We were provided leech socks by the host that kept most of them away, but I still donated some blood to a couple of leeches. It may be a good idea to take some adhesive bandages with you to stop the bleeding. Sinharaja Rest is located at the edge of the village, so one can sit on the terrace and absorb the village sounds and listen to birds singing. Beautifully welcoming family, clean comfy and spacious room, nice area close to the rainforest. The food was delicious. Highly reccomended, we spended 2 nights. Price are very reasonable. Thank you so much, hope to see you again.

Such a nice place. Something really special. To be in the forest and see all the birds is what we wanted and we got exactly that. Also the owner is so kind and cooked for us.

If you are a nature lover,this is the best place you should be.....I spent some wonderful days at Rainforest Mount Villa. The view and landscape is something special-amazing - the villas are right inside the rain forest!!!! And the balcony on the riverbank it was something I really enjoyed. Sarath - the owner of this lovely place, its an amazing man, an excellent jungle guide, professional, generous, and very friendly. It was really nice days that we experienced and we felt right welcome. Finally, there were great tips for our further trip. When we missed the bus just a little, he even drove it miles behind him, so we still get him.

We had a wonderful stay at this homestay in the Sri Lankan rainforest. The host and his whole family were incredibly kind and helpful, and they made us feel very welcome. The homemade food was delicious and freshly prepared every day. Our room was spacious and clean. The rainforest tour was a highlight – we learned and saw so much, and the guides passion and knowledge made the experience truly unforgettable. We can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic and warm experience in Sri Lanka.
