My partner and I received exceptional personal service from Sanjay and his wife Madhu who own Simoya, with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast on the balcony that overlooks the jungle with its monkeys, squirrels and other wildlife was a fantastic experience, with the traditional Sri Lankan breakfasts that the couple served us each morning absolutely delicious. Sanjay even made some phone calls to find out where I could get a spare part for my rental car. It was a great relaxing and refreshing stay!

Nuwan was very nice and offered help all the time. The environment with tropical plants in the garden were very pleasant and beautiful , we liked it very much. It is nice to read a book on the balcony quitely. The breakfast with own planted fruit was also good.

Perfect location for visiting different sites in the area, rooms were spotless and comfortable. The owners are the nicest people you could wish for. They were very helpful when we planned our sightseeing tours and also organised different tuktuk transport for us. Breakfasts and dinners were the best we have eaten in Sri Lanka and we learned quite a bit about Sri Lankan cuisine..

The best thing on this accommodation are definitely the owners. So kind, so modest, happy and helpful people one would not believe. We stayed there just for one night and then we had to move to another city but the stay was nice, calm, clean and the breakfast was absolutely delicious. We could arrive after midnight and the owner welcomed us with open hands and also helped us to schedule a trip to safari, ordered a driver and that everything in couple of minutes. The next day we could leave a luggages there and come back next evening. 10/10. The owner also helped with the luggages on our way to the next bus and stayed with us till the bus arrived. Would recommend to everyone!

The host was super friendly and always addressed my notes perfectly. I arrived at 2 pm and asked him for lunch (I had not mentioned this when I booked). He was happy and asked me which food I liked and then he went to the market to buy and cook lunch for me. The price was also reasonable and the food was great (I had 1 breakfast and 2 lunches during my stay here). The room was big and clean. It had a great balcony for enjoying food with nature. The host gave us a ride to the bus station to go to Kandy for free. He instructed us on how to get the right bus and which bus should we take.

The owner was extremely friendly and helpful. He even gave me a ride with his tuktuk and gave me very good information on the sights in the area. Thank you! :-) The room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was very big! The accommodation is a 7 minute walk away from a main street, so it's quiet, but not far to walk.

Ruan was the most amazing host for this beautiful homestay. We exchanged a lot of stories and had such a great time with him and his family. They cooked amazing food for us, homegrown from their own farm and Ruan sat with us through each meal and we had great conversations with him. Loved out time there and would go back to Sri Lanka only to meet our friend again😊

Clean bed and spacious room. The food was amazing and the host and his family were friendly and generous. The area was quiet but it was easy enough to get into Dambula town; the home stay was also very close to the cave temple and rock, an easy 15 minute walk.

Host family are very friendly and kind. They prepared a huge breakfast for us every morning with tea and coffee. They also drove us to dinner when it was raining in their tuk tuk. There are mosquito nets over the bed. The hot water system doesn’t get super hot (which was the same in all our home stays) but it was warm. The home stay is walking distance from restaurants.

My stay at Pradeep’s homestay was absolutely wonderful. The place is beautifully located offside the busy streets in a rural area. Homemade food, a stroll through the own garden, having a nap in the hammock and a swim in the nearby river - is everything you wish for. I could have stayed for 2 weeks easily. If you are looking for a calm place to ease off, a lovely family home stay and like to experience real life in sri lanka, this is the place to go! it‘s really 12/10.

amazing host - a family run home stay who welcome you warmly and provide all information and advice you need to make the most of your stay in Dambulla and surrounds. huge and delicious breakfast each morning. host dropped us in town (homestay is a 10 min walk from town) and cave temple in his tuk tuk. stay here - you won’t regret it!
