The house was incredibly cozy and had everything you could need during your travels. Naoko was a wonderful host — warm, kind, and exceptionally helpful. Both she and her husband went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, showing a level of care and affection I will always remember. I highly recommend this place. The owner is so incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me a great immersion into Japanse culture and values, not only by the great conversation we had but also by the way he supported me during my stay and even afterwards. The house breathes Japanese history and has a wonderful spacious feel. I stayed in a beautiful room in Japanese style and there is a great living room to read and relax. I am very grateful for this experience and intend definitely to return.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that each person has access to two levels of a bunk bed, where the lower level can be used to put stuff or spend some quiet time (sitting down, it's not tall enough to stand up). This is more than I was expecting! Everything was very clean and it was overall a very pleasant stay. The location was also conveniently close to the train station, as well as the covered shoutengai.

Family run ryokan. Shin speaks excellent English. He will pick you up and drop you off from nearby stations. You can walk to Temples 84 and 85 from here. No meals available but Shin will take you to supermarket. Lovely private onsen.
