What a beautiful, traditional Japanese home with the most wonderful host, Hiro-san. He was so communicative before and during our stay, so accommodating with a great sense of humour. He went out of his way to take us to and from the stations, to dinner, etc. Special shoutout to Hiro-san’s gorgeous and gentle doggy companion, Marie-chan. And oh my gosh, the lovely bath prepared for us every evening!! If we are ever in the area, we will go out our way to stay here again. Thank you Hiro-san.

This was a lovely place, they were waiting for us with a map and a lot of information of the city, the room was big, a lot of space to save stuff. The breakfast were incredible and free! i really loved it , and even when we returned in the night they have some fruits and miso for us they were really kind and a lovely persons, I felt like home.

we stayed for a night and was surprised that the owner was there to welcome us. It felt warmly and welcoming to be greeted by him. He spoke perfect english. Parking was available in front of the house. Neighbourhood was super safe. Rooms were quiet and clean. There was a projector to watch netflix and a kitchen for us to prepare snacks and cup noodles.

Nikko can become quite crowded, but that won't affect you in this hotel. It's on the edge of town and thus away from the masses, but still perfectly situated to plan your visit to the surrounding area. Personnel is extremely friendly and facilities are really nice, especially the in-house onsen. Traditional room is a great experience - just make sure to bring an eye cover if you are a light sleeper (the traditional windows don't really keep the light out).
