Wafu Guesthouse is a place to stay with a traditional Japanese style. I really enjoyed staying here because the host welcomed us warmly and respectfully. The host was very kind and fulfilled all our requests and questions. I will definitely stay here again if I visit Fujikawaguchiko in the future.

Host - Yumiko-san is one of the loveliest hosts I’ve ever met. She was extremely helpful - she informed us of the best route to travel when getting to her place from another city. When we arrived, she recommended a place for dinner, helped us make a reservation and even brought us there. Needless to say the dinner was amazing. She also shared spots that we should visit given our limited time at Mt Fuji. Yumiko-san is also thoughtful - she noticed that I was coughing at night and made a honey lemon drink for me in the morning to have with breakfast (breakfast was also great by the way)!Lastly, Yumiko-san is passionate about hospitality and the Fuji area. She was nothing but welcoming and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Property - The house is absolutely spotless, cosy and boasts a great view of Mt Fuji. We had everything we needed and left wishing that we had stayed longer!

Not your typical hostel or Airbnb – this is an old, traditional Japanese house situated along the main street in Fujiyoshida, just over 1 km away from Fujisan train station. Renting a car or bicycle is recommended for getting around. I arrived in the early morning after hiking Mt. Fuji, only to realize that check-in time is at 3 pm – my mistake. The house is managed by a son and his mother, who can communicate only in limited English. However, we managed to discuss my situation, and they allowed me to return at 1 pm for an early check-in. The entire property exudes a sense of history, and the summit of Mt. Fuji can be fully seen from the window of my tatami room (quadruple room), with its peak illuminated by the rising sun at around 5 am – a truly surreal experience.

This hostel is simply epic. You can find everything you might need. Even though the facilities are shared, it is very clean and comfortable. Great vibe, cosy and spacious living room. The hosts are very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

Coolest place to stay for fuji. Whole house, comfiest beds, and a short 30 second walk can get you a great view of Fuji. The owner was extremely accommodating and will sort any problems you may have.

This is a great place if you have a car and go with your spouse or partner. The bus and train last time is 5:15. So you will be at trouble if you do not reach before that. But the owner offered us a ride to the cave. We liked it. Japanese style home stay. Very quiet, nice, near to the kawaguchiko and the caves. very nice location. If you want raw Japanese rural experience, this property is very good to stay.
