A home from home with beautiful Japanese style bedrooms. it was our first time sleeping in a futon style bed, I was cynical about how comfortable it would be but it really was the best nights sleep! the kitchen is very well equipped and the hosts are so lovely ! They are happy to run you to and from the station in their car which is about a 30 minute walk from the accommodation .

I had an excellent skiing vacation at this homestay in Nozawa Onsen. From the moment I checked in, I could feel the meticulous service. The rooms are well - equipped, and the heating is sufficient, allowing me to rest comfortably after a day of skiing. The location of the homestay is perfect, being very close to both the ski resort and the hot spring, which makes getting around extremely convenient. Moreover, the homestay provides a considerate luggage storage service, allowing me to enjoy my skiing time without any burden. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to friends who come to ski in Nozawa Onsen. It offers high cost - effectiveness and an amazing experience!

Despite the heavy snowstorm disrupting transportation, they went above and beyond to assist us, ensuring we reached our destination smoothly. Their generosity didn’t stop there—they even brought our skis to the bus station, making our departure hassle-free. The warmth and hospitality we experienced made our trip even more special. By far our favourite stay in Japan! The room and facilities were good, but the reason the stay was so great was the owners, who really went out of their way to make us feel at home with fantastic food, helping us get to and from the piste, giving us great tips and generally being fantastic hosts. We'll definitely come here again if we're heading back to Madarao in the future.

Extremely close to the slopes and bus across to Nozawa. Miki, the host, is exceptionally lovely and helped us with all of our needs. The rooms are clean, with comfortable Japanese futons to sleep on. The heaters worked so well I had to turn them off after an hour or so. Wifi is fast and works well. I highly recommend breakfast and dinner!

The breakfast was delicious. Varied, nutritious and traditionally Japanese. Real attention to detail and we looked forward to it each morning. The staff at the hotel could not have been friendlier. They picked us up from the bus stop and helped us get discounts for the ski hire. They also went to buy discounted ski lift passes for us when needed. Little things as well like providing wellington boots for our walks into town (after a deluge of snow) made this visit very special. Thank you so much .
