Yosh is very kind and helpful. He welcomed me with a special corn tea and shared with me lots of useful information to explore the area. His map is very useful. The room is clean and comfortable. I had a very nice sleep. The location is perfect for families with kids because Cuddly Dominion is just located on the other side of the road. Your whole family can enjoy the animal shows, feed penguins with fish and take photos with super cute bear cub. Thanks again Yosh!

The couple running the guesthouse are warm, friendly and welcoming. The house is a renovated traditional Japanese house, so it is beautiful and cozy. The hosts also offered us vegetables and ramen to cook our own dinner, which was great!

Staff were really friendly and go all out to make you feel comfortable. Although the house has a history of 150 years old, there were technology such as sound sustem, projector and even Karaoke over the BBQ dinner. Definitely recommended to have a stay

Stunning view of the five peaks from our upstairs room. Kind and attentive host who made calls to restaurants for us. Also lent us towels to take to an onsen. Super practical. The glass art by Hideki on display in the common room also happened to be exhibited at a cafe in Takachiho where we went after Minami-Aso

Very authentic and beautiful wooden house with a friendly owner that made us feel like home. He gave us lots of tips of places to visit and where to eat that made our trip incredibly interesting. The Onsen in his house is also a must and we felt very fortunate to have found such a wonderful place.

The Guest House was actually a japanese style house. The comon rooms felt very welcoming. The facilities were all very clean.

I really enjoyed my stay, it was a completely different experience than other places I've stayed in Japan. The area has a slightly spooky, Alabama-esque feel. Maybe it was becouse of the goat outside my window, maybe the American-style buildings, or maybe, aside from meeting the lovely owners once at check-in, I didn't see a single person during my one-night stay. The room was clean, the bed very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked flawlessly (as did the Wi-Fi) a big plus for the fridge in the room (there are no shops at the area, I recommend buying some sandwiches etc earlier). It was the cheapest option I could find in the area, a bit pricey for the standard, but considering the spooky vibe (which I liked), I can't really complain. My destination was the Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, and it was a 30-minute walk. It's about an hour's walk from the train station. It's also a 15-minute walk from the coolest old-school samurai-style restaurant I've ever been to.

Owner of the guesthouse made us feel very welcomed. We had a large room and plenty room to hang out, both private and common area. It was an authantic Japanese house and we could use also her kitchen and wash machine. She preapared beatiuful and tasty breakfast everyday. She was also very helpful with her recomendations.

Great location, in walking distance from the Aso train station (about 10 minutes). Guest house was clean and comfortable for two nights stay. Our twin room was big enough, with small sofa, so we could relax there. Bus station is next to the train station. Bus to the volcano works on first come - first serve basis, so it is recommended to go to the station slightly in advance, especially during the rush hours. Local onsen is near to the station but it was closed on Monday, so we were not able to visit it.
