The initial expectations were definitely exceeded. If you want to book a quiet place, with stunning views around it, big rooms and bathrooms, clean, Italian breakfast (ask for a Cappuccino, you will definitely not regret it) with a fantastic view over the Montepulciano, and a great host give it a try to Villa Chiccheio. The only regret is that we didn't have the chance to stay a bit more there, because everything it's just as it should be. You can easily go to Val D'Orcia's main attractions (almost 15 minutes by car) or Montepulciano and visit. We'll think of a trip in the autumn season and this place will be our first choice.

The historic architecture was maintained and serviced with impeccable and up to state standards. When we had difficulty locating public parking, the staff member helped with no hesitation and rode with us to find the parking lot. He also helped with fantastic recommendations for dinner. Breakfast at the dining room was also beyond lovely. The sweet and fresh pastry, fresh fruit and coffee etc will be part of our beautiful memory of San Donato.

I stay at Vicolo dell'Oste whenever I'm in Montepulciano (which is two or three times a year, though Covid put a stop to that more recently), and I always find it a great pleasure to stay there. First of all, Luisa and Giuseppe are wonderfully warm and friendly hosts, and their apartment-style rooms are all very clean, comfortable and well-maintained. The rooms have all been renovated in a modern, convenient style. The B&B location is perfect and is just a short walk, either uphill, to the main piazza (Piazza Grande), or downhill, along the main street to numerous shops, enoteca, and restaurants. Breakfast is provided by the nearby Caffe Poliziano, a beautifully restored and maintained Art Nouveau coffee shop, with exceptional coffee and Italian pastries, as well as various other local dishes. It also has great views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.

Everything was excellence, the apartment is very-very nice, modern, bright and cozy in the totally renewed apartment building. The location is very good, not far from the centro historico, but with very comfortable parking facilities. Tuscany is allways beuatiful, but maybe this part is the nicest. Giulia and Sebastian are one of the best hosts we have ever met, they are very friendly, attentives and taking care their guests. We got good restaurant tips from them and Giulia told us where is worth to try thermal baths in the neighborhoud
