The room was small but very clean and comfy.

Spacious place and central location

This hotel was the best we stayed at. Perfectly situated with the sea just across the courtyard. The family room we booked was a suite: a spacious sitting room with balcony facing the sea, and two double en suite bedrooms. The ambiance was romantic: old stone walls, dark panelled ceilings and tiled floors, with furniture in keeping. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was superb. We were brought a selection from fresh squeezed orange juice, yoghurt, eggs, to honey soaked cakes. The town of Monemvasia is made up of tiny streets and alleyways, little stairways, ramparts by the sea. Bright coloured flowers set off the deep golden stones. Truly a picturesque and romantic destination, and a hotel to match. The kind staff also have a wine cellar where we choose some local wines to buy.

The location is outstanding! Just across the bay from "the rock" of Monemvasia, so the view couldn't be better. The deck is the centerpiece to this property... big, spacious, definite hang-out while in town with a birds-eye view to the village and Monemvasia. The proprietor, Poly is lovely and so accommodating. Really, just about all anyone could ask for is here.

We spent in the apartment only one night. Our apartment was on the top floor. The place was clean, coffee and tea were provided. The view is more than amazing. Just as on the picture, but in real feeling is much more. Monemvasia old town is far, but it’s worth.

The guesthouse is very conveniently located on the main street of the town, close to the bridge to Monemvasia. Room balconies overlooking Monemvasia. Standard breakfast for 7 euros. Despite the proximity to the street, the rooms are not noisy. Opposite the house there are many cafes and restaurants. Good service, clean good rooms.

The place is great if you want to relax. Peaceful hills around, black skies at night…. A car is a must. Is it far from the beach or Monemvasia? No, but it all depends on your demands – check on Google Maps – it gives you a realistic idea. Privacy is complete (there are some houses not too far behind, and people live there, but I only met somebody once). For us, it was ideal. But this depends on your needs. For instance, we never met the host in 8 days there. I liked this fact, but this also meant that we had to buy food for breakfast, because the promised breakfast was not included. There was food when we came, which lasted about 3 days, but after that, that was it; I wrote to the owner and the owner responded that he couldn’t bring more food, because he lived far. So when you compare prices, do not take ‘Breakfast Included’ into account, if you stay longer than 3 days or so. So what you get is an ideal place, a cosy suite, and a complete privacy for a reasonable price, but without any service, if that’s important for you. We spent some time in Monemvasia almost every day, and it became more interesting each time we got there, but I would not choose it for vacation rental. In Guesthouse Kamara, we were surrounded by greenery, olive groves, while in Monemvasia, there’s mostly stones, ruins, and tourists. It’s very interesting and beautiful in Monamvasia, but not really relaxing, I’d say. Also, I wanted to mention, we made many furry friends there. Nice little cats and kittens in need of food. They ate ANYTHING we gave them, including BREAD. I mean each and every one of them. They were nice and gentle, but appeared pretty hungry, and we couldn’t stop ourselves from buying sausages and cheap fish for them. And we had to give out sausages piece by piece to make sure everyone gets some. So yes, I do recommend this place for a complete relaxation… And don’t forget to treat the cats!
