The Mango guest house was an incredible and authentic experience in Elephantine Island. The staff, the facilities and the settings were fantastic. The staff arranged everything what we asked for: a car from Luxor, a trip to Abu Simbel, food delivery and a felucca sailing trip. It’s not for everybody, though. If you’re a 5-star hotel frequent visitor, this is not for you.

one of the best experiences I have had. this is not just a nice guesthouse with a great view, new and very clean rooms in one of the most atmospheric areas of Aswan. this is a real immersion into the life of a beautiful Nubian family who take care of you. this is definitely more than just a business. this is the heart that is shared with you through every detail. JJ also has a boat that you can travel to the main tourist locations with a very friendly price that you won't find on the street. his wife is an amazing Nubian woman who cooked wonderful breakfasts and even painted my hands with henna as a souvenir. thank you, see you again!

Clean and comfortable home with the most stunning view of the Nile river. The host Mustafa was so welcoming and organized our trip to Abu Simbel and taxi to the airport. His nephew Hamada kindly collected us from the port and dropped us there in the early hours of the morning to catch our taxi to the airport - nothing was too much trouble. It was so peaceful and relaxing there, our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. We hope to return in the future. Fabulous guesthouse with fabulous hosts. During my first trip to the continent, I was impressed by the hospitality provided by the hotel. Ahmed, the manager, went out of his way to help me with everything, from arranging shuttle service to and from the airport at a great price, to assisting me with a cash transaction while in Egypt, etc. The hotel was spotless and had reliable air conditioning and a clean bathroom as well. The hotel balcony had beautiful views of the Nile. The accommodation was perfectly comfortable, overall, I had a great experience and would highly recommend this hotel!!

My wife and I stayed two nights in this beautiful hotel and wished we would have stayed longer. The hotel owner (Tamer) and his nephew (Mo) made us feel at home, helping us organising trips at very fair prices and preparing delicious breakfast and dinner every day. The hotel is located in a Nubian village, on the West Bank of the Nile. You can get there very easily for 10 EGP per person with the public ferry. The atmosphere in the hotel and the village is very relaxed, which we absolutely loved after coming from very busy cities like Cairo and Alexandria. One of our highlights was the morning run + swim in the Nile that we did with Mo, who showed us the best spots in the village and in Aswan. We will definitely come back to visit these guys who became our family for some days

Everything and everyone. We are so glad to stay in this little island away from the busy streets and hustlers. It's so quiet and everyone in the island is so welcoming, greetings received from everyone. There's a ferry to get to east side and the pier is only 4 min away from the guest house. The ferry fair is 10EGP per person. Only takes 2-3 mins to cross the river. Ferry runs 24 hours so very easy to go around. Abu came with his motorboat to pick us up when we arrived and we were send off as well when we left. Village walking tour and the felucca trip with Mustafa (Abu's cousin) was the best time we had in Egypt. He's so friendly and very knowledgeable. We had an amazing time with them. The home cook dinner prepared by Abu's family were delicious. Abu can organise all kind of trips for you and you can book their motorboat to go to a different island with very reasonable price. Thanks for the warm and greatest hospitality from Abu and his family. We had an amazing stay and we will miss this lovely little island.

If you are planning a trip to Aswan, Elephantine Island on the Nile , La Terrace Aswan is the guest house you NEED to stay at. The house is so lovely and spotlessly clean. The view of Aswan Corniche from the wonderful terrace are fabulous day and night. Now on to Mohammed, the proprietor. The nicest, kindest, most genuine man you’ll meet. He looked after us like we were family. We flew into Aswan from Cairo but when we arrived in Cairo our luggage wasn’t. We messaged Mohammed just to let him know what happened and even though at this stage we still hadn’t met he took ownership of the issue and just ran with it. He had a car meet us at the airport which took us straight to a pharmacy to buy toiletries before taking us to the guest house. The following morning after making sure we had some breakfast he guided us to a shopping centre where we could purchase replacement clothing. In addition to all this Mohammed looked after all our bookings for tours and trips. He well and truly saved our holiday. The beds in the room were so comfortable and it was so quiet and peaceful. Mohammad, thank you for being the perfect host in your gorgeous house. Best of luck to you.
