Great location in this cute town - next to some nice places to eat and with views of the mountains and coast. Also in a good location to do the hike to Fontanillas. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the area is quiet at night - with the window open you can hear the sea. Also, a lovely breakfast.

We had a lovely stay at MeloMar Rooms in Ponta do Sol. The accommodation is very central (about 5 mins from just about everything in town) and is clean and comfortable. We had a huge room with a balcony and a very modern en-suite bathroom. A big benefit for us was also the well equipped shared kitchen which meant we could cook for ourselves on a couple of nights. But the best thing about the stay was our hosts, they were kind and friendly and although they didn’t speak much English and we don’t speak much Portuguese, we made it all work just fine! In particular they helped us out when we got the timing wrong for the morning aluguer to Porto Novo - they phoned around and then went out into the square to help find a driver that was willing to to take us in time for our transfer. Amazing. Thank you - I hope we can come back and stay again some time.

Beautiful apartment with modern up to date amenities. Beautiful mountain view. Nice breakfast. Our host and her husband were lovely. Very friendly and nice to talk to. Also very informative about hikes on the island. I truly enjoyed my stay there.

Exceptionally welcoming hosts. The room was very clean and had an amazing view. Breakfast and dinner were home cooked and provided a good choice and quality of food. The hotel is a short walk from the natural bathing pools and there is easy access to transport to other locations.

Tony is a great host and very knowledgeable about the local area. He is always kind and willing to help or lend advice. The breakfasts were great and make for a lovely atmosphere where guests have an opportunity to meet eat together each morning. The guest house is very serene, set amongst the hills and sugar cane fields of Eito. It's a perfect location, away from pombras, nestled in the valley. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thanks Tony

The staff was really nice and Judith helped out in organising a taxi from Porto Novo to the hotel, including an amazing tour through the island. Also we had a great time with Ivone who prepared very nice vegan breakfast. The hotel has a great terrace with a stunning view and the location is very nice.
