Homestays in Datong

We had a great stay. The room was comfortable, modern, and better than the photos—new furnishings, good quality finishes, and all the toiletries you might need. Thoughtful extras included a plug adapter, a Bluetooth speaker, and a quality hair dryer. On arrival the room was at a pleasant temperature, with snacks and a fresh fruit plate waiting for us. The location was very good: inside the old city walls and a few minutes walk to the main area of the old town. Best of all, the service was outstanding. The staff were genuinely helpful throughout, and the person who looked after us went out of her way to ensure we had everything we needed and shared great restaurant tips. We’d gladly stay again and highly recommend it.

I fell in love with this hotel. It has a gentle, old-world charm that makes you feel like you're in a classic movie. The bedrooms are exquisitely furnished, the courtyards are beautiful and despite the attractions of Datong I spent hours just sitting in the courtyards enjoying the atmosphere. The location is perfectly central in this interesting city where there's much to see. The breakfast is without doubt the most eclectic I've ever been served, but there was much to enjoy. So many small welcoming touches. I was so sad to leave!
