About a 5 minute walk from the Luodong Train station in a very local neighborhood. The entire property is immaculately clean. The room was spotless and everything smelled clean. The bed was large and comfortable and the shower was hot with great water pressure. I could not hear other guests and the property is quiet at night. The owner is very helpful with checkin and anything else you may need. There’s a self-service laundry shop (laundromat) just 10 meters away from the front door. The amazing Luodong Night Market is only about 12 minute walk away and has an amazing selection of street food.

I stayed at a lovely homestay in Toucheng, Yilan, and the hosts truly made the experience special. From the start, he was incredibly attentive on LINE, sending me a long list of food spots, sights, and local tips that made planning a breeze. When I arrived and realised I didn’t have enough cash, he immediately offered to drive me to a 7-Eleven to withdraw money. The first ATM happened to be down, so he took me to another store without a fuss. He also went the extra mile by helping me liaise with a surf school and arranging a Guishan Island and dolphin-watching tour, which ended up being a highlight of my trip. Breakfast was really good, with six options to choose from, and the decor throughout the building was absolutely lovely—adorable, cosy, and the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay. When I mentioned the Wi-Fi felt a little unstable, he had someone come by the very next day to check and fix it. The TV had loads of channels, many in English, which was perfect for unwinding at night. On my last morning, I found a box of cookies at my door as a parting gift—such a sweet touch. Warm, responsive, and genuinely caring service from start to finish. Highly recommended.
