Dar Hamouda is a charming historical dar in the best and liveliest part of the Medina of Tunis. The rooms are beautifully decorated, the bed very comfortable, and the bathroom modern. The hosts (Mrs. Amel and her husband) were wonderful and very helpful. We particularly liked the joint breakfast where you could meet and talk to other guests at the dar. This is always a good opportunity to exchange experiences and meet people when travelling.

Guests can eat in the on-site restaurant, which is open for dinner, lunch, cocktails and high tea. The great service at this hotel began well before we arrived with the staff, notably Ameny, answering many questions we had. Our room was clean, comfortable and amazingly quiet seeing we were in the medina and near the rooftop restaurant. We barely heard a noise during our entire four day stay. The rooftop restaurant was fabulous and had extended meal hours for people like us coming from different time zones. The hotel itself was beautifully presented and is located in a really lovely part of the medina. We would definitely stay here again.

A beautiful Dar in the centre of Sidi Bou Said located on a quiet but accessible side street just metres from the action. The property was beautiful and would be great value for money for up to 4 people. I stayed myself but was still worth it! I was blown away by the traditional architecture and style of the property. Unfortunately I could only stay 2 nights, I’d loved to have stayed longer. The host was very hospitable and helped me arranging payment as you cannot yet pay by credit card. I didn’t have a car, but they offered me free parking pass at the car park nearby.
