The facilities were fresh, and clean and there was everything you may need for a great stay. The hosts were super kind and helpful. I would love to come here again!

Even in proximity to the main house, it felt very private. My husband said it was the best self-contained booking he had ever stayed at for such a price (he was also comparing to AirBnBs)--and I would have to agree. It was in a great location for our next day of exploring too!

We had a lovely stay at Mangawhai Lodge. It's located at the top of a hill and has outstanding views. Jeanette our host was absolutely lovely and made it feel like we were staying with family. Breakfast was fantastic and freshly cooked each day with the choice of continental with yummy fresh fruit salad as an added bonus or a eggs, bacon and such. The lodge is not right in town center, but it's a short 15 walk to get to the cafes and restaurants. It's also within 10 to 1 hour drive to many awesome experiences and places. So you can see beautiful beaches and go surfing near by, do walking routes and explore cliffs, forrest and waterfalls or even a little city life in Whangarei.
