It is wonderful to sit on the porch listening to the river either in the sunshine or sheltered in the rain watching the river grow stronger. The place is very tidy and clean. There is a kitchen fully equipped. The rooms are cozy and the traditional house is generally well designed and decorated with artifacts of the hosts family. I felt at home right away. Dennis, the host, made sure of that! He is super super kind and we shared many good conversations about Malaysian culture, literature, architecture and society. My favorite restaurants in Kuala Terla are Restoran Jia Ji Xiang and Au Poh Wan Village Style Home Cooked Noodles.
