Clean, calm, comfortable room with big clean open air bathroom. Its the best place in Trincomalee - truely comfort and relaxing stay. Comfortable beds, tea pot in room, beautiful garden sitting area - all was perfect. Friendly staff. Also good location - 5 min walk to beach, and a lot of good cafes and resturants around. We stayed here for 2 nights and then try to go to other place, but we return to stay one more night because its most comfortable place.

They can also arrange some activities for you, and you can do snorkeling starting from the beach 3 miin away if you have your equipment

We had a fantastic experience at Hilton cottage. The rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom has hot water. The owner friendly and always obliging. Nothing was too much trouble and all of the staff are lovely. It is close to the restaurants and easy walking distance to the beach. I would highly recommend Hilton cottage if you are looking for a quiet, pleasant stay in Trincomalee.

Rangan is a very nice and warmhearted host. He makes you feel like home. The facilites are simple but clean and comfortable. It has a beautiful garden around. The beach is close, 5 min walking. The snorkling we did with Rangan was great, I can really recommend. He even took time to go for a second round, because we liked it so much.

The previous review was mistakenly posted for a different property. This is the correct one. I stayed here in July with a last-minute booking, but the warm welcome made me feel right at home. Upon arrival, they helped me park and quickly showed me to my room, which was very clean. There’s no air conditioning, but a pleasant breeze comes through the window, and the mosquito net allowed me to sleep comfortably even though I usually dislike bugs. The hotel is in a great location—just a few minutes’ walk to the beach. Nearby, there are shops selling beer, wine, and ice, as well as a delicious and affordable Sri Lankan restaurant right next door (takeout available). There’s no fridge in the room, but the owner kindly let me use their family fridge to chill my drinks. The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. They were always around and ready to assist with anything. As a guest, I could book snorkeling tours to Pigeon Island and dolphin & whale watching trips at a special rate. Even same-day bookings were arranged smoothly, including transport to the meeting point. Communication via WhatsApp was easy and efficient. I had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back next time I visit Sri Lanka. Thank you to the owner and the whole family for a lovely time!

I have been privileged to travel the world, many countries, many airbnbs and hotels. Our time with Prashanth will always rank in one of my best stays. He takes the time to welcome you to his home. The accommodation is comfortable with everything you need. Bed, aircon, mosquito net, and ensuite bathroom. What follows is a man who has been blessed with finding his purpose in life. The animals, once stray and injured, follow him around with admiration. Healthy and thankful to have met him. You will have your morning coffee with a cat on your lap (or 3), spend your day at the beautiful beach no more than 5 minutes walk away and spend your evening wanting to talk to Prashanth and hearing about his life and the history of Sri Lanka.
