The location, the cleanliness, the pool... But the best thing was the attitude of Thilak (who clearly is the boss), his son, and his entire staff. They arranged transport from our previous accommodation and to our next accommodation. They also took us to safari with their own jeep. As for food - the breakfast, as well as dinner, was delicious. The dinner is a rice&curry buffet with spicy and non-spicy options. For lunch, there are several soups and sandwiches available. We were traveling with a picky 4yo, so this was a lifesaver.

The place is very cool and clean! At first the jungle around seems a bit scary, but you r absolutely safe there! The family that has the place is very kind, they show us their beautiful garden. We had a fantastic stay! The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and well located. And the view is just amazing, we’ve seen so many monkeys! The host is great, he arranged all of our transportation and most importantly a very memorable safari. Highly recommend!

The place is pure magic. The cabins are very nice and comfortable, and it is the ideal place to stay when visiting Udawalawe. The dinner and the breakfast were absolutely amazing. A special thank you to all the staff, who were so nice and friendly and helped arrange transfers to the property, the safari (which was amazing) as well as the delicious meals in the property!

We had a fantastic stay at Hasthi Cottage! Dasun, his family, and the entire staff made us feel like part of their family with their warm hospitality and ever-smiling faces. The food was delicious, especially the chicken curry made from Dasun’s wife’s special recipe. Dasun also helped us arrange taxis at the same rates as the PickMe app, making transportation hassle-free. We booked the elephant safari through them as well and had a wonderful experience—our guide, Ishank, was incredibly humble and knowledgeable. Overall, the service here was among the best we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area!
