By far our best accommodation in Sri Lanka! The room is spacious, tastefully decorated, with a clean bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The view from the balcony (both from the room and the breakfast area) is breathtaking and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. To top it off, breakfast is fresh, copious and with a good mix of local and more Western options. The only thing we regret is that we could stay only one night.

Peaceful place. I enjoyed very much watching birds from the balcony. During our 7 days stay, I saw giant squirrels, grey hornbill, Sri Lanka white-eyes, eagles, chipmunks and of course monkeys:) Having lunch and dinner(5 to 7 dollars per person, omakase concept, cooked with fresh and seasonal food, more expensive if you opt for meat dishes) on the balcony was also such a pleasure. Home cooked food was not just fresh and tasty, but also very generous(compared to nearby restaurants). Meal also came with complimentary salads, a bottle of water, fresh fruits and cinnamon teas. Should have stayed longer.

Wingate Homestay has a terrace and is situated in Ella, within just less than 1 km of Ella Spice Garden and a 11-minute walk of Ella Railway Station.

Very welcoming family with cute dogs :) They really tried to make our stay comfy and pleasant. Fresh juices available. Very rich breakfast. Sandali was very responsive to our questions and needs. Very spacious bathroom, nice renovation, probably the best during our stay in Sri Lanka.

Great place to stay. A sweet welcome from the guys who are working there. Clean rooms, a nice service and attention and tasty breakfast/meals. You can see that they do the job with love and make sure you have a proper staying. The owner can help you with ANYTHING. I had a situation with a pickme driver and he helped me to solve it in hours! So you can really trust them with everything. The place itself is sweet with nice views. Thank you for everything!!

This is an amazing place to stay in Ella. The view from the hotel’s location on the mountains and forests of Ella is breathtaking, the hotel is cosy and perfectly clean, the breakfast is delicious!!! And above all, the owners are so kind, helpful and friendly that it was truly sad for us to leave this place.

Big room with a high ceiling, clean, comfortable bed, great shower, excellent food. Two brothers that own the hotel are amazingly friendly and helpful. You get a free pick-up from the trainstation (and back). They gave us a free ride to a spa they recommended, which was very relaxing and not expensive. The owners speak English well and gave us information about the hiking trails in the area. We definitely recommend this place. It is a bit more expensive than other places but it is really worth it. We will hopefully visit again.

This is a very Nice guest House, centrally situated, in a peacefull area. You hear birds, not traffic and city noise! As described, there is no air condition, and You dont need one in this climate. There are mosquito-nets and fans, so The rooms are safe and comfortable. The rooms Are clean, beds Are Nice, good bathroom. The host is very Nice and helpfull, and made our stay very comfortable. There are some steps to climb, but not a problem for The average traveler. This place is perfect for families, and everyone wanting to live away from The party central of main street. My family had a Great stay, and We Absolutely reccomend this stay.
