Even more convenient if you have a motorbike. Some of the restaurants nearby are good so you can just walk to get good food. Would recommend!

We booked last minute due to our original accommodations having been flooded due to heavy rains. Mr. Ajith waited up for us late at night, welcomed us into his home so we can have a late dinner, and brought us lemon juice straight from his lemon tree. He prepared a delicious multi-course breakfast, helped us with our bags, and communicated with our tuk tuk driver so they knew where we were going. We really felt so special being a guest at the Tide’s Tale and wished we could have stayed longer. The room is simple, but exceptionally clean. Plus the bed was extremely comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Ajith. You’ve warmed our hearts!

The hotel also features free WiFi as well as a paid airport shuttle service. Staying at Ohana was such a wonderful and heartwarming experience! Paula, Rodulfo and the complete staff are the best hosts you can imagine. They do everything to make you feel right at home and become part of their Ohana, their Family. The property is the best we have seen during our stay in Sri Lanka. This level of hospitality is hard to find in this country; they clean the rooms everyday, the breakfast menu is amazing and tasty (from overnight-oats to avotoast and chiapudding!), the pool is very clean and well maintained. They help you with everything you need to find your way in Ahangama and experience this town on its best! We had surf classes every day, absolutely the best and most complete classes we have had. You learn everything about the physical movements, coordination on the board and different types of wave patterns, this helped us improve our surf skills quickly. Every class ended with feedback photo analysis to personally improve more and more every day. Definitely worth the money and really recommend taking Rodulfo’s classes, even if your not staying at their hotel. The only hard part was leaving Ohana since extending our stay wasn’t possible, everything was fully booked and we understand why! We booked another hotel in the same street but were still welcomed at Ohana, this shows us how heartoriented these owners are. Very thankful for this experience!

Awesome location 2 min walk from beach and main street. New room which was clean and nice, basic little kitchen was bonus. Large room, many chairs and desk were appreciated. Definitely recommend.

With garden views, this accommodation provides a balcony. Outdoor seating is also available at the guest house. Susanna and Tusharo (please excuse me if I’m misspelling the names :) were wonderful hosts. Welcoming and informative. It really felt like our own house. Spotless clean, equipped with everything a traveler needs, beautiful nature around, a garden well kept. Another great thing is the hosts really care about animals and Tusharo shared fascinating information about the connection local people share with the sea turtles (we got lucky and swam with them). The beach has some great surf. Would love to come back and stay more.

At the guest house, some units are soundproof. I saw the reviews online and booked my stay at Saman Beach Guest House. It was the best decision. The rooms had good AC, the breakfast was great, and the view was even better, with direct access to the beach. It’s less crowded and peaceful, almost like having a private beach. I liked it so much that I came back again on the last day of my trip, and my son fully enjoyed the beach. An awesome place on a budget and highly recommended.
