The ambience was out of this world; the in-house food was remarkable, fresh home cooked restaurant style (large servings) Staff were very accommodating and friendly. Staying at Aathma House was the climax of our Sri Lanka holiday, would we stay there again, MOST DEFIANTLY.

The staff is very friendly. There is an Italian restaurant on the first floor. We booked a room with breakfast and had breakfast from a restaurant menu. We had dinner in the restaurant. The meal was tasty. There was live music in the restaurant on the weekend evenings. It was our best hotel in Sri Lanka.

We stumbled upon this spot by accident, and what a happy coincidence it was. The experience is more like a cozy Airbnb than a standard hotel. The rooms are clean with all the basic amenities, and there is a kitchen where you can prepare meals. The location is excellent—every major café and tourist attraction is just a quick TukTuk ride away. The host, Ignatius Joseph, is amazing. You can tell he has put a lot of thought into the house, which features beautiful colonial-style decor. He was always available to help and shared fantastic tips on local cafes. It was a pleasure meeting him. Tip: I highly recommend booking directly with him! 10/10
