We stayed just one night at Hiro's place and we had an amazing experience! The house is lovely in a very traditional Japanese style, and there's a small private onsen too! Hiro really made us feel welcome in his home, and greeted us with lots of kindness. The garden has a lovely pond and the little dog is so sweet! I really recommend Hiro place for an authentic and lovely experience in Japan. Hope we can come back again in the future. Thank you Hiro!

The owner was such a lovely person, she went through the sightseeing of Nikko and showed us the house. The room was typical Japanese style with futon. She was so kind and prepared and offered a delicious breakfast, she also gave us an origami as fortune gift

The owner went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and at home. Cooked us a delicious breakfast even though it wasn’t included in the price and drove us to the station (only 5 minutes walking) so we could definitely catch the bus/train. Very clean house, comfortable futon beds and working air conditioning. All in all we had a fantastic stay at an authentic Japanese home and can only recommend Arai house. If we ever have the chance to come back to Nikko we would definitely stay here again

Yoshi’s hospitality from the minute we arrived was unmatched with any other host experience. His kindness, warmth and gentle nature immediately made us feel at home. We had a few ideas of what we wanted to do with our time but Yoshi shared even better ideas and ended up creating us a full proof itinerary with maps, bus times, hand warmers and bear bells provided for an unforgettable 10km walk! I want to continue to list all the ways Yoshi and his wife Rie made our stay so special but I fear I’ll write an essay. Our most special keepsake was a photo that he took of us (he is a photographer among many other trades!) which was printed and ready for us to take home on our final day. If you’re considering visiting Nikko, staying at Sanga Nikko will MAKE your holiday, as often it’s not the destination that makes a fantastic holiday but the people you meet along the way🤍

I loved the exceptional location and the atmosphere of the place. The accommodation was extremely clean and beautifully renovated with great attention to detail. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and warm, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The location was very convenient, only 10-15 minutes on foot from the station and about 30 minutes from Shinkyo Bridge.
