We booked the traditional Japanese room and it exceeded our expectations tenfold. It was super spacious, comfortable and beautifully furnished. The host Hanneke was so lovely and helpful as well. I could have stayed for a month! Arita is a beautiful town well worth visiting if you have any interest in ceramics.

It is located 46 km from Fukuoka Tower and provides a shared kitchen. The guest house has family rooms. The guesthouse was perfect in every way. It feels like sleeping at home with a Japanese family (which actually is true). The owner is really friendly. He helped me to find a parking space and explained everything to the littlest detail. When I arrived I got a free mandarin as they are in season now. The room itself was really comfortable and spacious. The beds were not too hard. The kitchen (with free tea and coffee), toilet and bathroom are shared with the other guests. However, since there are only 3 rooms, you almost never have to wait. The location is nice as it's close to the sea and about a 20 minute walk to the city centre and the castle.

Secondly, the guesthouse room is well decorated in Japanese style. Clean and comfortable. Most importantly, the host is super nice. She recommended me what to visit and where to eat. She also drove me to visit around. At the end she gave me so many gifts. They really gave me far beyond the money I paid.
