What a lovely place to stay! it is a private home that has been converted to a home stay however the manager was not onsite during the night and you did not feel like you were living in someone's pocket. Clean, warm and comfortable. our room was a traditional Japanese one. I was a bit wary about sleeping on the floor but the futons were thick and exceptionally comfortable with plenty of blankets. There is a private hot spring bath that is available for use which is lovely to soak in. staff were really nice and the breakfast was super delicious!

We had a great stay at Yufuin Sunday. It was so clean, neat and peaceful. We enjoyed the private onsen and beautiful views of Yufuin mountains. During our stay, there were two more groups staying in the house so we took turns using the onsen. The staff member who picked us up from the JR station was very friendly, polite and thoughtful. The host is hospitable, attentive and detail-oriented. He puts in a lot of efforts to keep this place welcoming and comfortable. I would highly recommend it!

An unbelievably helpful host and a beautiful location in lovely Yufuin made this one of the most memorable places that we stayed at in Japan. Highly recommended!

I cannot think of any ways to improve it. The house is very large, and would suit a large group. Multiple showers and toilets, a full kitchen and dining room. On site parking, and everything was absolutely spotlessly clean. Our host was amazingly kind and welcoming, and offered great advice about our stay in Kitsuki and our visits to surrounding areas. If I ever return to North-East Kyushu again I will stay here again. Thank you Kenichi!

I had an amazing experience staying at J-Hoppers hostel. The staff is so friendly, rooms and bathrooms very spacious and clean. I extended my staying twice as I felt so comfortable there. I really recommend this place is Beppu! As a bonus they have a good kitchen I could cook small dishes, very convenient.
