Facilities are roomy, comfortable, affordable and the staff are very friendly.

Modern, clean and comfortable. Very friendly and helpful hosts that create a warm and serene atmosphere. We tried both the western and Japanese breakfasts and loved both.

You can also self cater. The place caters for just one set of guests at a time. You have a main room with a table, piano, TV and WiFi, and a room for sleeping in. You leave these rooms to go to the toilet and kitchen area. Shower and bath is around the other side of the building. The house is quite old and is therefore cold overall, however, within your rooms there heaters which keep it very cosy and there are heating mats for the beds. Book here to enjoy a stay in a traditional Japanese house! You can also request a pickup from the train station.

They gave me a very warm welcome, and when I left, suggested a nice hiking route (山の辺の道/Yama no be no michi) which I did the day I checked out. 10/10

I definitely recommend the stay and would come back if I could!

This recently renovated guest house is located 11 km from Iwafune Shrine and 13 km from Nara Station. The accommodation offers a shared kitchen and a shared lounge for guests. The staff were super friendly and very accommodating. The hostel was very comfortable and had a very japanese feel to it. Would only recommend!
