Andy and his team really put their heart into this lovely place, it has the charm of Japanese countryside but run with professional care. - The room: we stayed in the two bedroom, it was spacious and clean with brand-new heater, toilet and shower. - Food: breakfast was great, western style and Japanese style were both provided. - Facilities: amazing onsen on the 1st floor, and the lobby has a fireplace, can do bar and Japanese bbq here. - Pet-friendly: Yes! Andy and Rika’s dogs are cute! - Nearby: walking distance to a wetland and rice fields, the snow scenery is stunning. It’s also close to Lake Aoki, where many people visit the lakeside cafe. - Transportation: the hotel arranged station and ski resort pick-up. Feel free to ask if you need a private ride to other parts of Nagano, their tour service is great!

Additionally, it is conveniently located at a reasonable distance from Matsumoto Station, and just a short walk takes you to Aeon Mall and the main street. The river view from the balcony is cool.

This was my first time visiting Japan, and I chose Matsumoto as my travel destination. I must say, choosing Cafe & Stay Castana as my accommodation in Matsumoto was the best decision I made. The room was very clean and tidy. The dining area is beautifully designed, and you can enjoy a coffee while taking in the lovely scenery outside! Most importantly, the host was incredibly nice and friendly. We had a flat tire while traveling around Matsumoto. When Kaneda-san heard about our issue, he kindly offered to drive me to the car rental shop and even helped translate the problem to the staff there. Thanks to Kaneda-san’s help, we were able to get a new rental car without any trouble! I will definitely book Cafe & Stay Castana again if I have the fortune to visit Matsumoto in the future!

The hosts and owners of the hotel (Chisato and Shuei) were the most lovely and accommodating hosts! From the delicious breakfasts every morning, to assisting with restaurant bookings and ski pass purchasing, their service was excellent and made for a very pleasant stay. Togoro has comfortable beds, warm rooms, free WIFI, heated ski/board storage room, and more. Togoro's location is perfect; right next to a public onsen and the bus stop for the snow shuttle and the transfer bus from Iiyama, and easy walking distance to anywhere you might need to go.

The property has mountain and garden views, and is 21 km from Jigokudani Monkey Park. Boasting family rooms, this property also provides guests with a picnic area. I really enjoyed the stay in 遊来る guest house, even though I didn’t get too much time to look around, as I arrived late, I had a chance to have a pleasant chat with the owners. Also they were very kind to send me one item that I accidentally left in the room after checking out. Thank you so much!

The breakfast is simple and delicious. They are interested in your plans and guide you on things locally including making restaurant recommendations as well as bookings for you. They are very generous in dropping you and collecting you for various purposes including the bus stop, the Happo slopes and restaurants. My daughter accidentally left her jacket somewhere and Koji San collected it for us without hesitation. Overall, I'd happily come here again.
