Communicative and exuberant staff who shared ample recommendations and insights. Walkable distance to the train station and places of interest. Comfortable futon. Though there was one bathroom and one WC for all in the mixed dormitories to share, I did not face any issues with it + the rooms were clean. No noise or snoring encountered too.

Way bigger than a standard Japanese inn, and the bathroom had great amenities too. I enjoyed going to the local shrine, and sitting outside the hostel to enjoy the peaceful nature. I would love to stay again.

The guest house was a lovely half hour walk from the train station along the canal in an absolutely beautiful neighborhood. We loved strolling around the area and it was easy to get to boat rides and restaurants nearby. IKOI itself is wonderful and had everything we needed. Warm room (can't say that about every place we have stayed at), super comfortable beds and other amenities in tip top condition. The view of the garden from the cafe is honestly worth the price alone, it's breathtaking. It's hard to believe you're not in the countryside when looking out that window. Finally, I have to dedicate a paragraph of this review to Jo, the owner. He was so helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. He helped us with figuring out transportation, he called a restaurant for us to help with a reservation and he recommended some local places that ended up being the highlight of our stay in Yanagawa. I cannot say enough great things about our host, just 10/10. Overall, our stay at IKOI was wonderful and I could not recommend this place more!

We feel so lucky to have met the hosts and been able to stay in this amazing home. Staying here is just an incredible experience, the home is stunning and fun to explore, the views are great and the hosts are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Our only wish is that we had stayed even longer.

It is located right in the middle of the town and it has a parking lot too! We were three and slept comfortably! The house is composed by an entrance/kitchen (with free coffee and tea ❤️) a bathroom area (toilet / shower / laundry machine) and the main room (bedroom / livingroom). The host was very nice and I would stay again in this house If I come to Arita anytime soon
