It was big enough to enjoy spending time in the evenings in the room - not like the other hotels I stayed at, where I only slept because it was so tiny. The room had a small table and even a balcony! The staff was extremely friendly and the room was cleaned every day. They also supplied us with free water bottles, more tea bags and fresh towels every day. The location was good too, a short walk to the subway and in walking distance to the old city. I definitely recommend staying here!

Linda, the host, was super useful and attentive, giving recommendations of places to visit and how to get there with public transportation. The Japanese-style room was a good size, with very elegant and authentic decorations, and very clean. The futon was very comfortable and the area is quiet -- I slept amazingly well! The shared toilet and bathroom were very clean too, and there are fridge, microwave and kettle in the common area that can be used (also washing machine). There are also several books and guides on Kyoto to look at. The love for Kyoto that Linda and her husband have can indeed be felt in every little detail. :)
