The guest house features family rooms. Everything is perfect! The room, the staff, the location, the cleanliness everything is excellent! The staff even help with our luggage climbing the stairs to our room. Coin operated Laundry was just next to our room the location was so beautiful and walkable to tourist spot. Would definitely be back if we visit again!

She is very welcoming and always ready to help you if you have any questions or problems. We felt like home from the beginning. The place itself has everything that you need, is very comfortable and located in a beautiful area next to a beautiful temple and a nice area to stroll around. On top you get to experience sleeping on a futon which is way more comfortable than we expected! We recommend this place to anyone that wants to visit Kyoto and would definitely come again! Very welcoming, and was there to say goodbye to us as well. Flat is bigger than any that we stayed in Japan, 2 separate rooms in opposite sides of the apartment with middle part being living room and the kitchen. It definitely exceeded our expectations as family, and was worth the price.

Featuring a garden and views of garden, Azukiya is a recently renovated guest house located in Kyoto, 700 metres from Shoren-in Temple. A hot tub and a bicycle rental service are available for guests. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and currency exchange for guests. The room we booked was a totally independent building that was wide, comfy and carefully decorated. All the needed facilities are provided and you can tell the owner is super considerate when setting up the facilities. Talking about the owner Cecco, she's being a great helper who provided lovely pottery for afternoon tea, fancy breakfast and great suggestions for basically everything, thank you!!! This is exactly what I expect for an ideal guesthouse/hotel. Will definitely come back in the future, see you then!

My husband and I recently stayed 4 nights at Rokkon Guest House, and absolutely loved the experience. Hostess Kayoko is wonderful – incredibly welcoming, friendly, cheerful and helpful. Each homemade, Japanese-style breakfast she provided (along with a detailed description of each food item in English) was a delight. We also enjoyed tasting the different types of teas and sweets she left in our room each afternoon. The guesthouse has been beautifully renovated with great care for the details. Our upper room was spacious and included a dining table, two comfortable beds, another seating area and a small stove for warmth (which we did not need to use in November). The room had its own bathroom and shower, both very clean. The guesthouse’s location is fantastic, walking distance to the Karasuma subway line, plenty of great restaurants, Nishiki Market and Nijo Castle. If you are looking for a traditional lodging experience in Kyoto with a truly lovely hostess who gives her guests personal attention, I highly recommend Rokkon Guest House.
