Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. Only some rooms include a balcony, tatami floors, and free toiletries. Wow. The entire facility was amazing and easy to find. The staff were very kind and helpful with directions and help. The room quarters and shared lounge were the best I've experienced in a guest house environment. The Onsen was phenomenal, the outside in particular was beautiful especially early morning when it first opens. The view from the guest house after/during the rain is magnificent, you can watch the mist roll off the mountains

Featuring 1-star accommodation, Nikko Guesthouse Sumica is located in Nikko, 300 metres from Nikko Station and 300 metres from Tobu Nikko Station. Among the facilities at this property are a shared kitchen and luggage storage space, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The accommodation provides a concierge service and a tour desk for guests. Location was very convenient and accessible, as I could easily walk from the station and bus stop under 5 minutes even with heavy luggage. Beds in the dorm were comfy and shower facilities were perfect. Probably my favourite part though was the people. Hosts Kimiko San and Suzuki San were very hospitable. They offered suggestions on the itinerary, as well as nearby onsens to try. My favourite part of the trip though was joining an English practice meetup at Picnikko, where I got to meet other Nikko locals. Everyone was very warm and welcoming and I had a lovely time:)

Kamakura no Nikki is located in Kamakura, 500 metres from Yuigahama Beach, 2.3 km from Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine, as well as 22 km from Sankeien. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. The guest house features family rooms. Location, friendly staff and they really accommodated me with getting my room ready before check in

At the guest house, units have bed linen and towels. Super stay, very clean with fresh towels daily. Incredibly friendly owners. I honestly feel this place is a hidden gem. The beach is minutes away and a sunset Mount Fuji view is beyond epic.

This 3-star guest house offers luggage storage space and a shared lounge. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot spring bath and a shared kitchen. Location, staff, kitchen/common area and the private onsen. Parking lot was plenty. The hostess let us check-in early even though we arrived relatively early. The rooms were traditional style with everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The air-conditioned accommodation is 11 km from Nikko Station, and guests can benefit from private parking available on site and free WiFi. The guest house features a hot tub and a shared kitchen. A traditional home situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes away from train station. There’s a communal kitchen and living room for use as well as a private onsen that you can reserve. Hiro, the host, is very accommodating and will provide rides when needed. His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.
