When travelling to a completely new place for the first time, one of the best things you can find is a warm, friendly welcome and kindness from your host that exceeds your expectations. Going back to Wagokoro at the end of a long day in busy Tokyo city was like coming home to family. We had lovely conversations and always felt taken care of - I even felt so comfortable practising my basic Japanese with our hosts as they are so nice to talk to us every day. The room was lovely with wooden interiors, and we really loved hanging out in the common room. The common room had an equipped kitchen, free tea and coffee, and cute tables to sit and have a snack or meal. There are also lots of good places to eat around the hotel, and the train station was just a 7-minute walk away. Wagokoro had a level of hospitality that we have never experienced before, it's definitely a place we would like to stay at again next time in Tokyo :)

The hosts are absolutely awesome! First thing in the evening he took us in his car and drove us to the nearest onsen, then took us back afterwards. They are sincerely trying to help anybody who needs advice about local sights, restaurants and facilities. I got recommended an awesome walk without many people with beautiful spot at the end. For sleeping there are 2 separate rooms in classic Japanese style with tatami + futon and 2 dorms with bunk beds. Facilities squeaky clean. We had a lot of fun meeting all downstairs in the common area in the evening. Highly recommend to anyone not fussy. It was an absolute blast and would definitely stay again!

It was a lovely stay at guesthouse kenken. The house is run by a couple that takes amazing care of their guest, they make you feel right at home! Its a traditional japanese house and very clean. They have a kitchen available and a beautiful little terrace, also a pick up service to and from hota train station. The town of hota is small but very beautiful and peaceful. You can do many activities in the area, for example hike the mountain that is right next door, with a beautiful view over the coast. And the sunset with a view of Mt. Fuji ist just magical. I can only recommend that you visit this guest house when you are in the area. Thank you again for the amazing service and I really enjoyed my stay here :)

Old traditional house. A charming house, beautiful and in a very quiet area. Fresh air and pure water. Hiro, the host, and his assistant Marie (a small gentle dog) are very kind. Hiro gave us some nice tips and restaurant recommendations. We felt right at home.
