Loved this beautiful property - so unusual and stunning, with great views of Sakurajima. The rooms are super comfortable and cosy, and the shower is nice and hot with good water pressure. The host was very kind and attentive and made me feel at home. There was a little packed breakfast including fresh GF muffins waiting for me in the morning which I took on my adventures up Sakurajima. The location is on a beach a little further out of the town area, but there are buses and it’s an easy walk too if you want or need to get home later than the bus timetable. I walked both nights I stayed and it was a lovely end to the evening (and helps with digestion!). There is a Joyful, 7/11, and a Starbucks that open until night time or early hours just over the road if you need something local to ride you over. Loved my stay here and would return.

The hospitality was impeccable. The host was always available for everything. Probably witnessed the peak of Japanese culture (with people being helpful in every way possible) here. The host (without even us asking him for anything) found that our shoes were wet after a trek put them for drying (on a drying machine) only for us to find the shoes all dried up the next day. Unbelievable. The location is walkable from the port and has house had everything you’d need. The kitchen and the shower was equipped with everything that you’d need during your stay. The house was small but very clean. Would highly recommend.

Inside the house, it is pretty warm. There are coffee beans and everything ready for us to make a hand drip coffee. I can’t wait to make one cup. The coffee taste so good and smooth, maybe this is selected beans. I connected the Bluetooth speaker and playing Mayumi Itsuwa’s songs. Music harmonized with the lovely chalet interior, the atmosphere is so relaxing and immersive. Kihara-san is very nice. The Shinyu Onsen he recommended is gorgeous. The hot spring water is wonderful. It is milky-white, so natural and so great. I guess it come from a sulphur spring. In the daytime, we hiked around Onamiike and Ebino Plateau. The crater lake is amazing and there are great views along the trails. At night, we do BBQ in front of the chalet. We rent a Charcoal Konro Grill set, it is really convenient. We bought some Japanese Wagyu beef for yakiniku from supermarket near Kirishima. The beef is yummy, really delicious.

We had a very warm welcome from Yuki, and loved the cedar lined room. Our stay was very comfortable and relaxing, Yuki also gave us some great recommendations for walking and onsen while we were on the island. Dinner was also a real treat with freshly caught fish and fruit from the local farm. Would recommend if you are looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing.
