We’ve been travelling for 25 days in Japan with our family of 4 and this has been our best experience. We arrived after riding our bikes all day and were greeted by the hosts with hot orange juice, tips on where to get food and even got a lift to get take out as they informed us the best restaurants might be closing soon. Our kids even got a present in the morning. Everything in the room is thought out - the bunk beds are bigger than normal with power outlets. There are Imabari towels. The showerhead is glorious. There is a lot more space then the pictures give away and you wake up with amazing sea view. If you’re doing the Shimanami Kaido or are looking for a place near the beach - stay here.

During the morning a very small earthquake occurred and Tonari immediately came over to see if anyone got scared. Everything was clean and neat. We also appreciated the house rules because even though all guests were staying in dorms/semi private room it was always quiet.

The area is popular for cycling, and bike hire is available at the guest house. Koji is the most generous owner and genunely welcome to help. He picked us up from the port and even picked us up from another port in the night time (we survived from the most adventurous journey - thankful to Koji!). Talk about the place: the guesthouse is cozy and warm. The shared facilities included kitchen and washing machine. The price of ramen and washing pods are the same price in the convenience store and may be cheaper. E-bikes are also provided with the cheap rate (1000 yen/day).

Really lovely owner that even took us to the local onsen and picked us up. Also reserved a place at a local restaurant, so we wouldn't go hungry. The location is in a quiet neighbourhood and the night sky was cool to see with all the stars. Could store our bicycles under a roof too. Really comfortable beds and pillows.

The house was very spacious and clean (also the room and the Japanese style bathroom.) There were facilities which were necessary for my stay (washing machine, fridge, kitchen, good wifi.) The host was very friendly and helpful. :) I biked around different places in Kamijimacho and all the people I met on the way were very friendly and helpful. A quiet and beautiful place.

Cafe options are also very good, I highly recommend the strawberry smoothie there. Location is perfect, right at Imabari station, bike rental and bus station. Staff was very sweet.

It’s a unique traditional Japanese house — spacious, cozy, and full of character. But what truly makes this place special are the hosts. I feel so lucky to have met them; it felt like visiting family rather than just staying somewhere. They showed us a local onsen, and on our second night, they prepared a wonderful dinner with homemade udon. We also got to try real matcha, which was such a lovely touch. This stay became one of the most memorable moments of our entire trip. I truly hope to visit this beautiful home again in the future.
